    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

I’m sceptical - I doubt anything on the island will survive, since it will need to be nuked. If there is a season two, I think it’s more likely to focus on whatever slipped past the crash site containment.

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

Or it’s a big fat completely harmless red herring. I’d do it! I think five is the one that will jump out and kill everyone, otherwise why keep it hidden?

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

His chance of survival was zero anyway. The eye has had more animal hosts than human. It attacked Nibs, who is not human, and a significant threat. Maybe we should call her Boo? “Go for the eyes!”

It’s a powerful class. But it doesn’t have any soul.

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

They kind of feel like a Gygax original. "I try to remove the monstrous tick." "It releases a puff of poisonous gas. Everyone within 5 ft. save vs. Poison or die".

    D&D 5E (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

This is what I would expect. You are drastically reducing the number of things a player needs to know so you can jump straight in to the game and show how it works. It's a teaching tool, not an alternative to the actual rule books.

    D&D 5E (2024) Heroes of the Borderlands

Did they see much use? I remember them existing, but never used them. They didn't simplify like this product does.

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Infinite Staircase?

I'm not a fan of the linking material in this book. It feels contrived and cheesy. But the adventures are good, I would use them on an ad hoc basis. I dropped Barrier Peaks into Vecna: EoR in place of the Forgotten Realms section (because my players had seen enough of that setting). On the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Kingmaker AP in 5E With Bastions?

That's life. You prove yourself good at doing one boring admin job and you get promoted to a bigger one with more responsibility and more tedium, and so on. It was just the same a long time ago.

D&D General This Makes No Sense: Re-Examining the 1e Bard

Your prejudices are showing. Clearly, the bard is not a joke, because a shedload of work was put into it. What it is is a simulationist's attempt to recreate the legend of Taliesin within the game. Half elves? The thing you need to realise about Gygax is he considered rules to be suggestions...

    D&D 5E (2024) Kingmaker AP in 5E With Bastions?

How simulationist do you want it to be? Actually running a kingdom involves a huge amount of dull repetitive work. Why would anyone want to do it rather than travelling round the countryside killing monsters and stealing their stuff?! I found it a enough of a dull chore simply running a school...

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

The Eye seemed to be trying to help the crew of the Maginot. Perhaps this one is a Star Trek alien? Also, maybe the Eye is why the xenomorph has no eyes.

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

It seems to me that it should be the surprised/unable to see an opponent who rolls initiative with disadvantage. That allows for some aware and some unaware combatants on both sides.

Marvel Animation’s Marvel Zombies | Official Trailer

"Zombie" seems like a pretty good description of the MCU right now.

    Spoilers King & Conquerer

Having watch more of the show, it definitely leans heavily into pro-Norman propaganda. Which in one sense is unsurprising, as the winners got to write the history, and then down the years the story has been used to justify the authority of the English establishment. But in 2025 I would have...

    Deathstalker Gets A Reboot!

I guess I'm wondering, to what end? Is it simply to cash in on the nostalgia of 50-something geeks? That seems like a very limited target audience. Or does it have something to say?
