Only if their weight is sufficient to overcome said potion's viscosity.

    Weather in your Games?

I use the random table in the 3.5 DMG. In the past I've only used it as window dressing, but since one of my players is now running a druid who loves Call Lightning, I have to check it for every single day there is a combat.

Hey, there's nothing better than mystery meat applied with a caulking gun!

Crucial clue missed (by a mile and a half) - What will you do?

I've never read nor played this adventure, but from what I think you're saying, this is kinda poorly designed. "Find the one (one!) secret compartment that leads to every single clue for the whole adventure or the world ends! Recommended for a party of 6 ninth-level rogues." Of course, I could...

Crucial clue missed (by a mile and a half) - What will you do?

Mysteries in RPGs are fun, but bring their own challenges. I'm doing the same and thoroughly endorse the 3-Clue-Rule. So what else is in the secret compartment? Put something flashy and unique in there. Maybe something that the "smartest person in the world" also wants. "By the way, after you...

How to make sure monsters disrupt a ritual?

Maybe other druids think that your druid awakening that tree will disturb the natural order. 3 or 4 gnoll druids could wreak a ton of havoc. Summonings amok!

    JollyDoc's Serpent's Skull-updated 11/6/2011

Selfishly speaking, I'm disappointed since this is one of only a few story hours that are (were) both regularly updated and worth reading. But speaking as a fellow human who also has a job/family/life/and a game to run, I completely understand. JD, we get it and we support you. Whether you're...

    [November] What are you reading?

I'm wrapping up Vector Prime by Salvatore. I was very disappointed. I usually enjoy his FR stuff (Cadderly more than Drizzt), but I just can't get into this. Even when [spoiler redacted] dies, my reaction was simply, "meh". I just ordered Inheritance by Christopher Paolini. So next is either...

    Review: Pathfinder Beginner Box

I can't help but think this was intentional. Once new players and DM's can figure out the mechanics, Paizo has a ton of other adventures and AP's ready to help with the story side. I don't think it's nefarious, but rather good business practice to push new customers into existing products.

Things you left out, but wish you didn't

Like everyone else, my RL is pretty hectic. So by the time I get to the table I'd forgotten half the stuff I'd prepared but was sure I wouldn't forget and I'd forgotten to prepare half the stuff I wanted to. NPC personalities. The few times I'd prepared ahead of time and included personalities...

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

MorningstarofEll, I can only speak for myself, but I was initially drawn to this Story Hour because of Sagiro's compelling world and his tight, tight plotlines. Also because of how incredibly clever you guys are as players. It helped get me hooked on D&D early in my gaming career and I think...

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

So you bring up his brilliance yet refuse to share? Either these details are still spoilerific or you're being a jerk for teasing us. I really hope you're not being a jerk!

    Best Gaming Advice

Going along with this, my advice is to know your players. Most players have characters with similar personalities. The guy whose characters tend to lead will usually lead, independent of what's on his character sheet. The guy who's only interested in the story/plot as long as it leads to an...

    Fantasy Book suggestions

"You must spread XP around..." :hmm: HAJ has posted a prequel short story on Paizo's Web Fiction page. It gives a good taste for his style. This one is definitely on my short list.

Sagiro's Story Hour: The FINAL Adventures of Abernathy's Company (FINISHED 7/3/14)

I think you're underestimating the number of your readers just a tad. Yay, I've had an impact on something incredibly awesome! In all seriousness, to Sagiro and everyone involved in this campaign, this story is amazing. The DM and players have worked together to create a truly amazing...

DMs: Have you ever done this?

What about rivals? Are there other groups in the world after the same thing as the PCs? Maybe they have a run-in with a strange adventuring group and instead of another +1 sword, they get a stack of journals with relevant information for loot.

Tarasque: Have you ever encoutered one?

We played a 3.5 20th level one-off where power gaming was encouraged. We encountered the tarrasque and an army of drow before we got to our ultimate goal. Much to the DM's chagrin, we hid.
