So after reading the classes in full what do people think?

Nice idea, Nifft, I like it. Unfortunately I can see why it isn't in the core rules. Imagine a new DM trying to come up with the bonuses for say, worshippers of the Norse pantheon. Since there isn't page count to spare to include every deity from prominent real-world religions, let alone all...

    Are Eladrin the New Gnomes?

If I ever run a game of 4E, 'Halfling' will be a nickname commonly used by other races to refer to the Riverfolk. Few Riverfolk will take it kindly. To be fair, that's probably not the sort of change you could get away with in this edition, since this is also the first edition to have...

Cure Disease will KILL YOU TO DEATH!

As others have said, there's only danger if you attempt this ritual on an injured character, or if the ritualist knowingly continues to try to cure a disease beyond their skill. As to how it can kill, a few ideas come to mind. One of the simplest is that the ritual accelerates the patients...

So is this indeed how it works?

I'm quite seriously not sure where you're coming from here. Why should a battle between two titans be over in a few seconds? How would that be good for the game? It seems to me that a battle between two titans ought to take long enough for the PCs to be located, begged for help, and come to...

I also have the books [merged] (info on upcomming Power sources and more)

No, because 3E fighters got split into two 4E classes, due to the concept of roles. 3E fighters could be defenders or strikers. So in 4E the fighter got split into a class for each role, and the striker killed the ranger and took all his weapon skills, and his name. ( If WoTC had just given...

    Rituals

It was in the same thread, as I recall. The gist was that 'destiny' was a word he used to describe it - not an actual term from the rules.

    Concerning buying D&D 4th Edition

I no longer have a FLGS. I order online because there's no alternative. So I try to find a FOGS.

I also have the books [merged] (info on upcomming Power sources and more)

From the preview, the rogue build options seem to determine which stat is Primary 2, and which is the secondary. Is this accurate? Does it hold true for all classes? Does the primary stat vary with build choice for any class?

Just posting to make you all jealous, I HAVE THEM

What about underground cells? Doesn't there have to be free space to walk through in the Feywild for the teleport to work, so Eladrin will not be able to teleport out of a traditional excavated sub-basement dungeon cell?

Can you retrain to re-select the trained skills you already had to compensate for this? Specifically, can retraining affect the trained skills you selected at character creation?

    You're Marked..how and what'sum'up?

We know from the powers excerpt that any creature affected by a power is aware of the power, and all its effects. It specifically used the example of a creature marked by a paladin being fully aware of what will happen if it ignores the mark.

    Excerpt: Fallcrest

Come to think of it, wouldn't crop blessings be as common as buying fertiliser in a standard D&D world? If you can shell out for super phosphate, you can hire someone from the local temple to come bless the crops, especially if it's been proven time and again to have reliable, significant...

A few comments from a playtester

This thread has raised an interested question about retraining: Does it occur before or after you select feats/powers for that level? In other words, can you use it to get the requisites for abilities you also buy that level, or do the retrained feats etc only count for abilities bought at...

    Why are healing surges limited?

Call me crazy, but I'm going to wait to see how the RAW work before I consider adding house rules.

Which all classes can "mark" that we know

No, 'Marked' is a specific condition in 4E - check the 'Save My Game' column on the official site for details. We've only seen Defenders and soldiers who can do it so far.

    Character Sheet Released

Think again. You can retrain feats in 4E. That means you need to maintain a list of the feats you've taken so you can swap them out when you retrain. For that same reason you need the breakdown, so you can check your math when you retrain.
