Hi Aus Snow!
You are not wrong about the dual statting: the next issue of Ordo Draconis is 60-70 pages long and includes one adventure (set in a Monastery) and one locale (the town of Eastmarch) for both DW and Pathfinder. In addition, the adventure has proper battlemaps to enable Pathfinder...
Hey Paige,
I didn't even know what you were talking about until I went to the reviews page: I just browse straight into the review itself and didn't even realise there was a list with an order to it.
Sorry for messing up that page with chatter: I'll do it by PM from now on.
I just make a ruler as an object and then can move it round the map and rotate etc as I need to. If you are mapping as much distance as some people here then you will need to make several rulers for different scales.
I guess I hate hexes for fantasy because they look so SF: great for Traveller...
Ben Robbins also stated that the PCs should make their own map, and that the GM should not correct it, even when it is inaccurate. as that is how it would really be.
One of the things I find inspiring is the way he describes how PCs would navigate. Instead of allowing them to say "we head...
If we are talking 3.5 then I don't know of any product that did this, but I am planning on creating my own "Westmarch" using the E6 rules system, for play about the middle of next year.
Once I have done the prep then I might stick all my notes and maps on the net because nothing like this is...
He does go into scale and one thing he states is this: DON'T use hexes as they create the illusion that once someone has been in the hex then they have seen everything.
Indeed, I would suggest using the same system as Ben from Ars Ludi: map in a small a scale as you can and put as much detail...

One of the greatest accounts of a sandbox game is the Westmarch on Ars Ludi. You can find it here

If you want to run this kind of game there are oodles of good advice there.
Dear Muriwo,
I am not sure it would work unless you have about 8 party members. Even then, the 10th level baddie at the end will be a tough proposition and if the party split up, they are toast. I would expect at least half the party to end up dead.

The Prince of Darkness is the latest supplement for the “Dragon Warriors” RPG, that was first released in the 1980s by Dave Morris and Oliver Johnson.
Dragon Warriors is a mechanically “streamlined” fantasy RPG that is distinctive because of its...
Ordo Draconis is a new fanzine devoted to Dragon Warriors and a version of OGL D&D (final decision has not yet been made but it will likely be Pathfinder). All adventures will be dual statted . See here for the website: Ordo Draconis
The first issue is up and was free but future issues are...
That your players came up with the idea for your organisation (the paper) is SO cool Maddman!
I don't really like it when the organisation determines the PCs actions: ordering them around. That's why I said "umbrella organisation" otherwise the thing can become a strait-jacket fairly quickly. I...
I have just finished writing and making maps for a Dragon Warriors adventure entitled " A family plot".
The adventure is based on a fairly detailed seed created by Damian May. I intend to submit the adventure to the Ordo Draconis fanzine, but would like some detailed critiques and/or playtests...
