There's actually a 3E item (i THINK it was in the Dragon magazine about gnomes) that lets you do just that. Have multiple wands in an arm bracer. You could use only one at a time though. Maitre D

There is just the silly situation in which you're not sure if you're going to take multiple attacks in a round or not. How can you determine on your first attack if you use the 1,5 damage multiplier if you're not sure that you'll strike again or not? :) Maitre D
