Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

And what do the harms of capitalism have to do with moving from a Studio to Franchise model? Why is every discussion about D&D now a demand that capitalism ends?

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

Will the switch to Franchise model for D&D mean that Exodus is supported by D&D or will it remain its own business unit?

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

That's normal behavior for a business, not anything near a legal limit. It's not mindlessly literal to use the true meaning of words, particularly when the phrase in question has little to nothing to do with the topic of switching from a Studio to Franchise model -- is that something that is...

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

There's no evidence that Hasbro has chosen to "make the most profit possible by any legal means." They have taken actions you and I disagree with, but that doesn't mean they've done anything close to this standard you present.

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

They could do that in a franchise model, a studio model, an indie model -- enshittification, like the rants against capitalism existing, isn't related to the change in model

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

No. The Franchise Model is having the various business units that do D&D stuff actually talk to each other about the stuff they're doing. So the Video Game and TTRPG and TV/Movie and Merchandising teams coordinate on projects rather than what happened post Stranger Things boxed set 1.0

Wizards of the Coast Head Explains Benefits to D&D Franchise Model

The reason I like the shift to the franchise model is because I want those D&D entertainment things to help get more people interested in the game. I like when more people play D&D. New people add stories I can't add myself. When the Levy project comes out I hope there's a boxed set because I...

    How Special Are The PCs?

In Synnibar the PCs weren't special. Everyone was a mutant-hero-cyborg-wizard. In Twilight: 2000 the PCs aren't special. Everyone is alone, destined to die. I think this question helps define a setting and game more than any other question - even "how common is magic/superpowers?"
