Things the rogue class said..and didn't say

There was this quote on Jennifer Clarke Wilkes developer blog: Most people guessed one feat at first and then at even levels. If it was a 4e character, of course.

    New Player's Handbook Cover Art!

Hard to see at this size, but there's something there. A dwarf and someone behind the dwarf, I think.

Classes ... Much Less Flexible than Advertised

Why would anyone model Sherlock Homes as a 3.5 rogue? All Rogues in 3.5 come with the class abilities of Surprise Strike, Trapfinding, Evasion and Uncanny Dodge: for all the claimed flexibility in class skills there is no way to design a rogue without them. It's been a while since I read the...

    November Releases Up on Amazon

The "dragon book" mentioned by the Israeli source before Gencon is finally official. I think that's the last of his reveals. Also, chromatic is not necessarily evil in 4e.

Healing Surges: 6 + Constitution modifier

If it is uses per day, then it sounds a lot like the healing mechanics in Earthdawn. In ED, a character's Toughness attribute sets base HP and the number of Recovery Tests per day - a Recovery Test is a roll to recover HP equal to the result - while the extra HP gained for the equivalent of...

    WotC_Shoe on leaderless parties

In the Ampersand Rogue writeup it has this: Which makes it look like humans still get an extra feat at 1st.

    Ampersand: Sneak Attack

Yeah, I know. I have the book as well. That's how I'm quoting from it. I was pointing out one of the things that appeared to have changed.

    Ampersand: Sneak Attack

Because it's in the "What's New with the Rogue" article by Mike Mearls, in the "Rogue" section of R&C, and it says "Rogues get a flat bonus..."

    Ampersand: Sneak Attack

In R&C it says: That seems to be gone. I can see why: it would have pushed the "clever rogue" archetype, but would have added quite a bit of MAD.
