    D&D Minis: Preview 2

The earlier preview had the cleric needing to hit to heal his allies, which would force the cleric to be pretty offensive. Now the allies hit to heal themselves, so that the cleric can commit himself to other actions while not losing the healing aura.

R&C Human Resiliency = Better Saving Throws?

No, I've played systems that used d%, and I've never found them worth the hassle.

Monte's 3.75? (A sequal is on its way)

He will? Has WotC said that hit points will be rolled in 4e?

R&C Human Resiliency = Better Saving Throws?

Absolutely. But we don't know if humans get the same stat bonuses as the other races. All we know so far is that Elves get +2 to Dex and Wis, and no race has penalties. Wizards could be balancing better powers with weaker ability scores. Well I'm glad they didn't, I've never found d% to be...

R&C Human Resiliency = Better Saving Throws?

From the first Castle Smoulderthorn playtest article: At the time I was thinking that this sounded odd given the brave new world of defences. Now it's obvious what that power was doing. The party was somewhere around 7th to 10th level, and the character with the power is Rich Baker's...

R&C Human Resiliency = Better Saving Throws?

It depends on how powerful they want to make the racial abilities. The Pit Fiend doesn't get the elves reroll one attack power either. And now that feats seem to be generally weaker.

R&C Human Resiliency = Better Saving Throws?

There was a short paragraph in Races and Classes about humans that puzzled me when I read it: At the time I didn't think this sounded terribly impressive. What were they going to do, double the per day hit point recovery? Now that we've seen the 4e saving throw mechanic, it seems to me that...

    WotC_Husclar: Goblin Battle!

I was thinking it might trigger when they have a prone target rather than stunned.

Have These Basic Questions been answered yet?

No. Only that both a point buy and roll system are in the PHB Nope. Wizards haven't officially said exactly which classes will be in the PHB, or even how many. Cleric, Fighter, Rogue, Warlock and Wizard seem to certain though, since they're covered in depth in R&C. No official lists as...

It Starts (Splatbooks - Martial Power in October)

Is the Primal power source associated with the Fey? From Worlds and Monsters it seems that arcanists have a close connection to the Feywild.

It Starts (Splatbooks - Martial Power in October)

Yeah, I'd like to see a cite for this as well. I don't recall WotC stating anything of the sort.

    D&D 4E I'm Not Sure I Can Afford 4e

Then don't! Unless you have a professional need to be familiar with 4e, you have the option of waiting for a year or three and seeing what happens with splatbooks and the DDI. There's no need to be an early adopter of a game for which you have little enthusiasm, just cause it has "D&D" on the spine.

It Starts (Splatbooks - Martial Power in October)

I wonder what the Dragon-related book is? Dragonomicon 4e, or the Big Book of Dragonborn?

It Starts (Splatbooks - Martial Power in October)

In Races and Classes, I think - I've lent out my copy so I can't check. With the comment in the latest Countdown to the Realms: Primal seems to be the official name for the power source.

It Starts (Splatbooks - Martial Power in October)

Did WotC ever claim they weren't going to be releasing splatbooks in 4e? One of the earliest leaks about 4e was from the Israeli translator/distributor, and it mentioned that there would be a martial book later in 2008.

Jonathan Tweet On His Variant Cleric

Is that actually a 4e cleric, or is he discussing a 3e campaign? My impression is that it's 3e.

It Starts (Splatbooks - Martial Power in October)

The Monk could be Martial if it's a pure martial artist, Ki, Psionic is they throw ki into psionics, or even Divine if they emphasize the religious aspects. There's just too many options depending on the designer's conception of the class. R&C said it'll be a striker, so I suspect it may not be...

    D&D 4E Mouseferatu weighs in on 4e

If the email mentioned is true, then obviously WotC has now given the playtesters permission to reveal that they are playtesters. Therefore we should now get to see a lot of posts from people saying they are playtesters, even if they don't go on to say anything positive about 4e!

    What's with the sexy githyanki?

The "sexy" githyanki is third from the left in this wallpaper. The forward-opening nostrils, three-lobed knee and huge clawed feet aren't my idea of "sexy", I'm afraid. I must be more of a leg man. Edit: Ninjas!
