There a new spotlight interview with Jennifer Clarke Wilkes where she discusses Worlds and Monsters. I think most of it has been revealed already, but Jennifer has an interesting opinion about an early playtest:

I'm going to do a bit of a threadcrap here and say "None, including Forgotten Realms and Eberron". Do new settings for the new edition. Some will be good, some won't be, but hey, that's Sturgeon's Law. And when 5th edition comes round, say goodbye to the 4e settings, and hello to the new.

Nice find, and I hope it's true.

One easy downside could be that it's a standard action to use Careful Strike. Then you have the opportunity cost of choosing which standard action power you use each round. All of the Paladin Strikes mentioned in the preview are standard actions.

A few more mechanical details in this post compared to previous playtest reports. I'll quote it here for the Gleemax-challenged:

When I looked at Robin Laws post about the 4e OGL mentioned on this board, there was this comment from one rsdancey: While he doesn't comment about the 4e OGL clearly he disagrees with Wizard's opinions of the 3e OGL.

The 3.5 white dragon wyrmling has a CR of 2, so this is hardly a change. 3rd edition went to a lot of trouble to have dragons cover a wide range of CRs.

Thanks, that finally clears up the Spined Devil preview card, which listed it as "Medium Immortal Humanoid (Devil)." Does it mention any other types apart from Humanoid and Giant?

There's been a fair bit of official comment on the bard. Races and Classes has a few paragraphs on P. 82, and there's this Design and Development article. Both make it clear that the 4e bard is going to be a leader; neither specify the power source though it's said to use magic, so obviously...

Taking a look at the Golden Wyvern Adept feat: It seems that they're making Wisdom an important secondary stat for at least some Wizards.

He says the swordmage is for a 2008 release, so it's not the PHB2. PHB2 is due in 2009. It's probably the arcane book that was leaked by the Israeli D&D translator at the same time as Gencon.

In my opinion these are not very good questions since they make the rhetorical assumption that the only thing that Wizards sells are the D&D RPG game books. As several people have pointed out above, this assumption is false. Wizards are not a one-product company - they have multiple other...

This was 3rd ed design philosophy wasn't it? Have they said the same for 4th ed? One of the 4e comments I do recall is that the relative importance of the stats has changed, and we wouldn't believe what the least important stat was now. On a completely different note: With the +2 to 2...

Not that I've seen. The example elf ranger in the elf race preview is said to be a devout follower of a god though. I don't think it's some sort of hint that they're a divine class, but perhaps it is.
