this is why I ended up developing a scheme of emails for different purposes. I know that not everyone is capable of doing this, but it works really well for me. Currently, only two of my address get any spam.

Did you recently put your email up on a webpage? Did you or someone else recently link to a webpage that has your email address on it? (e.g.: The link to your website in your signature. Your website has your email address at the top of the first page)

I think this is what the icon-based gui is all about. Most of these organization programs aren't any more functional than your average filesystem with a gui interface (e.g.: Finder, Explorer, Nautilus, Konqeror) However, on the other hand, I do really like TreePad's publish to HTML feature.
