My group consists of a Human Great Weapon fighter, a half-orc barbarian, a half elf bard, and a halfling rogue. So far its been ok. The barb is a meat shield, the bards out of combat healing is pretty good. The rogue is going arcane trickster, and the fighter kills lots of things.

With 5E's success, they dont want to tip their hand too early to their competitors.

Im seeing a definitive pattern here.... either rogues are really weak... or people are playing them poorly.

YES. With one stipulation. Anytime a character takes damage while dying they take a death failure. A critical hit imposes 2 death failures. Once they have either 3 death failures or their negative HP equals their max HP, they die. Correct. All healing no matter how negative they might be...

Being your first time playing 5e, I would suggest picking up the Starter Set, and running them through the adventure in there. Its a nice sized adventure. And you dont have to limit them to the pre-gens in the Starter Set. If you have the PHB let them make their own characters.

Heres a good thread. Now these estimates put mithral at 500gp/lb. Others, like this thread, put it at ~90/lb. D&D has always stipulated that 50 coins equate to 1 pound. But mithral/adamantine do have different wieghts, so we can assume that 50 adam. coins weighs much more than 50...

If I had my way, I'd only award experience to players who let me get through a read-aloud box.
