New Favored Class Roolz. (zOMG ZoWie!)

Why not just have every character automatically Gestalt with their Favored Class? Nice throwback to the days when demihumans were classes.

    Can dragons be religious?

Dragons are self-important and arrogant, but they respect power. Gods, as it turns out, have a lot of power. Dragons probably don't worship the same way humans do, but they are capable of worship.

Anyone played using the slow advancement rate?

That's how I handle multiclassing in my games. Single-classed characters use Fast, Gestalting with an NPC class or taking a "free" archetype is Medium, and full Gestalt is Slow.

Is killing a Goblin who begs for mercy evil?

Or if they'd raised arms against innocents. But otherwise, I absolutely agree with you. Paladins don't have to accept surrender, and they don't have to offer quarter or even declare hostilities-- but they're not allowed to make pre-emptive strikes. They don't get to just up and kill someone...

    Dreamscarred Press' Psionics

They're solid. Psions and Psychic Warriors are still fun, well-balanced, and flavorful and they get access to cool new abilities. Soulknives are actually competitive for a melee class and get a much broader array of options. Wilders... are still hopelessly terrible. Better luck next time. All...

Is killing a Goblin who begs for mercy evil?

Look, if you're the DM, the rule is simple: don't be a jerk. If the player of the Paladin is making an honest effort to do the right thing all the time, and he can make even a halfway decent argument for why what he did was the right thing, he is playing a Paladin properly and in accordance with...

Chaotic Monks - how to get them?

Take two levels of Martial Artist and then switch to Psychic Warrior. You'll get the equivalent of abundant step earlier, you'll be able to use it more times per day, and you'll have access to other better powers along the way. Or if you want to be really clever, take two levels of Rogue-- and...

    Bard Versatile Performance

Frankly, I think Versatile Performance should simply be replaced with the Magician's Expanded Repertoire ACF, to better reflect the Bard's status as a dabbler in magic. The only problem is that nearly every other Archetype also replaces Versatile Performance with something. If you're tired of...

What Rules Sources Do You Allow?

There's a lot of broken stuff in the supplements, but what people really need to realize is that the most broken stuff has always been in the Core. I don't maintain a list of "approved" sources; I review rules that I am unfamiliar with in advance and reserve the right to ban or nerf anything I...

    Racial Scores bonuses.

The Pathfinder standard is to have a +2 bonus to one physical ability and one mental ability, with a -2 penalty to any one other score. (Humans and half-humans get a single floating +2 and no penalty.) I think this is generally more interesting than the 3.X guidelines.

It's weird that you can full-attack when you're grappled

When you're grappled, you can't use a full-size weapon. If I'm being constricted by a python and I've got a knife, why wouldn't I be able to cut the snake as many times as I wanted in a round?

What are the practical limits of d20+mod vs DC?

    It isn't numbers that break high-level D&D, it's spells.

What are the practical limits of d20+mod vs DC?

Bell curve systems have an unfortunate side effect of making it really difficult to estimate probabilities in play and making the value of bonuses unpredictable. The only bell curve system I've seen that avoids this issue is Fudge, since the average value of the dice is always zero-- you have a...

    High-Tech Forces vs. High-Magic Forces

It isn't strictly compatible with the question in the OP, but read Fables. I want to avoid spoilers, but I can safely say that it is the most thorough treatise on the application of D&D-style magic to principles of modern warfare.

Pathfinder 1E Is this supporting Paizo???

I don't claim to have any intimate knowledge of Paizo's finances or business strategy, but as a non-Hasbro RPG publisher, I seriously doubt that Paizo can afford to use a product as a loss-leader. I don't think WOTC could have done it pre-Hasbro, either.

    Retcon Character question

What? There's no class lock in Sublime Chord. I've never seen a character with more than one level in it.

Pathfinder 1E Is this supporting Paizo???

Amazon doesn't have the power to force them to sell their products at a loss. Paizo probably gets around 40% of the MSRP from Amazon, the same as they get when they sell it to a distributor who sells it to a retailer, who sells it for full price. If they don't make a profit selling it at 40% of...

As a DM, what is your default answer to player requests?

That really depends on what they're asking to do. If they're trying to do something that just isn't possible within the scope of the setting, the answer is "no". If they're trying to do something that's too difficult for their character, the answer is "roll for it". On the other hand, if it...

    Wishlist do 5 ed

I don't like level caps at all. Keep the 30 level advancement scheme-- complete with Epic Destiny and Immortality and so forth-- and then have rules for continuing on with it. Yes, absolutely. I say reduce the reliance on system mastery as much as possible-- every legal build should be a...
