Pramas on 4E and New Gamers

For the record I did not say that you had to read all of Chapter 4 to play. I said it was "enormous and daunting." I did not go from page to page reading every power. I read some for each class to try to get a sense of what the powers were like and, as I said, my eyes soon glazed over. If...

Pramas on 4E and New Gamers

Well, this is a quite a response. Thanks, everyone, for keeping the discussion civil for the most part. I have read all the comments and may post some follow-up thoughts on my blog.

[Green Ronin] Buccaneers of Freeport Preview

We have posted a preview directly from the pages of Buccaneers of Freeport. "Among those pirates of whom legends are sung and drunken tavern-tales told, few are as infamous, or spoken of with such awe, as Scevola Hest, captain of the Black Contessa." Read all about this spiteful spirit of a sea...

Any word on 4e from the big names?

We've spent nearly a year waiting for WotC to figure out what they want to do with 4E and third party publishers and we are still waiting to see the GSL. We may do some 4E stuff but we'd be foolish to let successful lines fall by the wayside when we do. Folks who'd like to hear a discussion on...

Any word on 4e from the big names?

The Castles & Crusades Freeport Companion is the next one scheduled, in fact. We've got a manuscript and it should be moving into layout soon.

Any word on 4e from the big names?

Folks who want to do 4E Freeport can jump in right away because the Pirate's Guide to Freeport is a systemless setting book. You can use it with any fantasy RPG, 4E included. We'll see if the GSL allows a rules companion book similar to the others we've done (True20, d20, and Savage Worlds)...

Any word on 4e from the big names?

We've talked about a lot of stuff, but until we see the terms under which we'd be publishing (the GSL) we're not going to make a final decision. We had hoped to final check that out this past Friday but it was pushed off again.

    So, where is the GSL?!

Or you could buy the Pirate's Guide to Freeport, which is a systemless setting book, and use it as the basis of a 4E campaign right now.

    D&D 3.x 4E vs 3E Sales Figures: The Facts

It's a good sign, but there is a difference between sell in and sell through. WotC has sold their first print run into the channel. That means distributor and book trade buyers believe it will a strong seller. It's not a guarantee of sell through though, which is actually end users buying it. It...

    Answers on the GSL!

I realize this is just an example, but let me just say first that this isn't something we're going to do. WotC has been clear that stand-alone games won't be allowed under the GSL. True20 is its own game and will stay that way. If GR does 4E stuff, it won't be by updating True20 or M&M. As for...
