Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

So, at the risk of leaning too far into non-gaming politics, but the way that platforms are treating NSFW-bans as bans on LGBTQ+ content is neither coincidental nor unintentional. The goal is, ultimately, to force all queer people back into the closet, a goal that is the explicit end of a...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

This title makes me think of a home design show hosted by Kurt Russell and James Hong, which, I'm not gonna lie, I would watch the hell out of

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

Been playing Final Fantasy X because Clair Obscur was so good it reminded it how much I loved another one of my favorite games (and I have no way of playing Lost Odyssey currently) and chat, it's still absolutely awesome. Also Blitzball rules I will be taking no questions

Clearly everyone has lost the plot here. The generations are obviously: Kanto Johto Hoenn Sinnoh Unova Kalos Alola Galar Paldea

California bill (AB 412) would effectively ban open-source generative AI

I mean, the solution is to pay a human with some degree of understanding and responsibility to do the thing instead of entrusting it to poorly considered bundle of code.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

While it is true that you can place a lot of the popularity of D&D (and particularly the fantastic rise of 5e) can be placed squarely on the shoulders of Critical Role (the number of people who ever even tried 4e is a fraction of the 5e fanbase, so I doubt any rejection of that edition played...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

God damn that makes a lot of sense, because I grew up my entire life having brussel sprouts being the butt of every "bad-tasting vegetable" joke and now they're like my favorite thing, but then it's hard to go wrong with that many garlic cloves and that much balsamic vinegar.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

Oh yeah, I was just being jokey. More seriously, yeah, the Forge nonsense is at least trying to be categorically useful for discussing RPGs, to the extent that if you don't agree with the basics of the framework (and, let's be honest, you shouldn't), you can still talk around it in a way that...

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

Precisely. The biggest problem with chronological analyses is that the further you get from the origin generation the muddier everything gets as experimentation gets broader and it becomes harder and harder to confine all or even most of the prevailing zeitgeist to a single definable entity.

Which Chips (or Fries) Are the Best?

I feel like the traditional Fish & Chips "chip" is a steak fry. And steak fries (as well as Jo-Jos) are fries for people who prefer potatoes in general moreso than they like fries. Which is plenty fine but they definitely shouldn't be running away in a best fry contest. The correct answer here...

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Lead actor notwithstanding, the Adventures of Lois and Clark is an extremely underrated show; Teri Hatcher was great as Lois Lane, John Shea was a great Lex Luther, and Lane Smith is still as much Perry White to me as J.K. Simmons is J. Jonah Jameson. There's no argument that Smallville isn't...

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

I mean... on the one hand it's a lot more accurate than all the horrible Forge classifications. On the other hand, it's a lot less useful for modern discourse than horrible Forge classifications, which is... not a high bar at all

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

In-n-Out has some pretty distinct variance, like it genuinely matters which one you go to. Like they added one to my hometown (right before the cult took over) and it was genuinely trash; the one where I live now is excellent though. Animal style is a trap though.
