What videogames are you playing in 2025?

Just wrapped another day in Blue Prince. Figured out some clues and got some deeper computer access, and now I need to put the game down for a bit, because I am completely emotionally devastated. Holy crap this game

Civ VII also came out this year. Not to mention two quality modern ports of a pair of classic PSX RPGs each in Suikoden & Lunar. Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 is apparently doing extraordinarily well also. And my GOTY is already out, of course.

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

I got pretty fortunate; on day 18 I got a Shrine boon that added 8 Courtyards to my deck (which I had upgraded to provide 2 gems); the following day I placed the Root Cellar (which increases the number of digging spots). I ended up with a full house, like 11 minor keys and 20 gems leftover, and...

Mass Layoffs At Polygon, Major Gaming News Outlet

All joking aside, some of my fondest memories from my darkest times were from Polygon's video content. Even when they dialed that back I still followed the works of some of the folks from that time (Chris Plante, Brian David Gilbert, Ashley Oh, the McElroys). Even Charlie Hall, who ended up...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I just wanna know what they have against Barry Miles.

Devs are scared they can't compete for GOTY with games like Blue Prince and Clair Obscura

I'm on Day 40 now. I "beat" the game on Day 19. I am nowhere close to done with this game.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t (2025)

By all accounts, the following two seasons have been covering those tabs handily

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t (2025)

Yeah that is the one thing; the films have always had seemingly way too good of a cast. The new one even has Rosamund Pike! I can think of a few British comedians I'd like to see less than Corden, but yeah, that's a select group.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t (2025)

I'm more of a Lizzy Caplan gal myself, but then, that's probably surprising to exactly nobody. Still, "Oceans Eleven with stage magicians" should've been foolproof. Should've been...

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t (2025)

I love that this franchise continues to plow forward based entirely on how promising the premise sounds, because it certainly couldn't be because of their actual quality. At least they're finally using "Now You Don't", which should have been the title of the second movie, but clever writing has...

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

The bolded phrase here is doing a lot of heavy lifting. "Tolerance", such as it is, may be the "only difference", but when it comes to adapting anything from one medium to another (we see this most commonly with books to film, but we still do have many examples of adapting TTRPGs to CRPGs)...

It's not even so much about not liking the rules of 5e as a tabletop RPG. But some of those rules play better in adaptation than others, particularly in the form of a CRPGs. Attunement is one of those rules that I absolutely love at the table but would feel completely dreadful in BG3.

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

The process of playing Blue Prince so far: Day 1: Okay, this is neat, it's like Betrayal at House on the Hill Day 2: Wait... was that there yesterday? Day 3: Ohhhhhhh, it sounds like blueprints! Day 5: I can go outside? Day 7: She went missing?? Day 10: Stop giving me $#@&$!$ bathrooms!! Day...

What videogames are you playing in 2025?

Skyrim run is going well so far. Snagged the free pre-fab homestead from sending that sad Nord lady to Sovngard, which almost feels like cheating. It is a bit out of way which it makes it less ideal for crafting, so I'll probably still buy the house in Whiterun at least. Put off killing the...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I can't speak for the Oregon/Washington parts of the PNW, but where I live a heat wave is when the temp cracks 80. The only places with AC are the mall and the movie theatres, and even with the latter it's hit or miss depending on the screen.
