as long as we are on half-orcs and half-elves..

In a similar vein, where are the half-gnome-half-dwarves or the half-elf-half-halflings? :D

    Neverwinter Hate

You should go and find a copy of Pool of Radiance and play that for a while. It'll make you appreciate NWN. ;)

Thinking on your "feat": dynamic character design

Cool idea. I've done something similar (allowing players to switch out spells/abilities they haven't used), but haven't considered doing it from the get-go. I like it!

    When Encounter Levels go wrong...

Try sending a hoarde of weaklings in waves. It won't make that big of a difference, but you might get the wizards to cast more spells.

What is the 2nd most important attribute for a Druid?

Intelligence. You've got wildshape if you want to bump up your Con/Str/Dex.

I hear that. Autumn is my favorite season as well. It's about the only time I miss the Michigan climate. Not a lot of color changing in palm trees.

Weather...weather...ah, I remember weather. It's been about 70 degrees since March, each and every day. I got a call from the Weather Channel asking my opinion a couple months ago. They wanted to know how often I watched their programs. I had to explain that I live in San Diego, and that we...

Yeah, but it's the type of brushfire that can easily consume half the state of Arizona if one is not careful. ;) Better to nip it in the bud and make it friendly.

Have you, in fact, READ the PHB?

I initially got my copy when I playtested FR, so I read the whole thing over because there wasn't anyone I could really go to with questions. One exception. The spells section. It's pretty dry to sit there and try and read 100 pages of spells.

This is what I get for being bored and trying to kill time before a vacation day (sorry moderators!). :) Maybe we should take this to nutkinland if we want to continue this debate *cough* flamewar *cough*.

Actually, quite the opposite. I consider graphics and opinion polls to be absolute dribble. NPR is a radio program, so it's pretty hard to have graphics of any nature on it. But hey, this is getting awfully close to a politics debate, so to each their own. Edit: Took out the needlessly...

:) Sounds like a pretty well-rounded diet. What's Drudge? I start off the morning with the Wall Street Journal and local paper, read salon.com (which I love and hate) and economist.com (which I would subscribe to if it weren't so darn expensive in the States) during the day, and listen to...

No, seriously though. Where do you go for real news and not editorial infographic stuff that belongs in USAToday?

I never thought anyone could question it. :D But, I'm always on the look out for a better source of news. What do you rely on?

Ugh. Not Anderson Cooper. Anyone else suffer through Channel One News in your high school sometime between 91-95? He used to be their international correspondant. He's the kind of guy that wore hunter's orange in a Bosnian fire fight. (and for the record, CNN and FoxNews both stink. The...

My 2 cents on the WotC World Design Contest

Re: What's your point? I agree with the first part of Sigfried's statement. My reaction to this post is 'who the heck are you, and why do you presume to have a better understanding of the rules and procedures of the contest than the rest of the members of the board.' Your points are...

    Two parties at odds

I've run one or two adversarial games, and the biggest hurdle is keeping them from killing each other right away. Players are a bloodthirsty bunch, and if they have the opportunity, they will generally try to kill off members of the opposing groups. If you've ever tried to make a recurring...

How do you rate your setting's chances?

Maybe this should be called, How Big is My Ego. ;) Seriously though, you've already got 17 people saying they're going confident of making it through the first round. At least 7 of them are wrong, probably all 17 are. Win, lose, I don't really care. What I look forward to is seeing people...

Slow, haste, and boots of speed.

The slow would dispel the haste automatically, no save. Just like you don't get a save when someone casts dispel magic to strip you of your spells.
