    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

I must spread some XP around before awarding more to you. Thanks!

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

D&D Legos? How do you do that? Dragons? Beholders? Giants? Famous encounter sites (Tomb of Horrors, Slave Pits of the Undercity?)

    D&D 5E (2014) Why Balance is Bad

We had always played 1e/2e "backstab" as that you had to both surprise the bad guy and be behind them. In 1e, I was strict enough as DM to where you had to be directly behind the bad guy. I think you only needed flanking in 3e/4e to get sneak attack damage.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

good point, but for those of us who grew up gaming with Basic, 1e or 2e, Greyhawk was very familiar to me. I agree on preferring 3E's setting agnosticism, as just the cosmology change was a good amount of work for people who used Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, 3rd Party settings, homebrew worlds, etc.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Oh come on, why quibble about little things like the Battle of Stirling Bridge not having, umm, a bridge in it?

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

As Nothing new, but the "default" setting for 3e was Greyhawk, the original RPG gaming world that's been around since the 1970s. As I stated above, I haven't followed gaming closely and have played 3e/3.5e/PF as much as 4e, but I knew Greyhawk was the default setting for 3e and didn't know...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Points of Light wasn't really a setting, though. It was more like a generic take on where the heroes start. And, I thought Nentir Vale came long later in the Essentials days?

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

Books, yes. RPG books, never. They could have printed Chinese characters on the front for the author's name for all I knew. For the "core" rulebooks, I will buy them no matter the author. (I still can't tell you who has done anything for Pathfinder, other than remembering a woman wrote The...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why Balance is Bad

I wish combats in 3e, 3.5e, 4e and Pathfinder took only 30-60 minutes. I usually game with a big group and a single combat after mid level (say level 9 in 3e/3.5e/PF and level 12/13 in 4e) could take an entire session, or close to it. that was what I miss most about 1e/2e D&D. You could have...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why I Think D&DN is In Trouble

I'm still looking forward to it. I remember the 3E hate being after the launch of 3E. Beforehands, I remember mostly positive stuff because they were bringing D&D back from the abyss of the mid to late 90s where TSR almost went out of business. The same with 4E. Pathfinder was already...

And the most overpaid actor is...

I've heard from a few people over the years that Sandler is a good guy in person as well. So, I'd rather a decent guy be overpaid than a jerk (or worse) like some actors and athletes can be. (And, other than Wedding Singer, I really haven't liked any of his movies)

D&D 5E (2014) Next D&D Next Adventure Scourge of Sword Coast will be PDF Only

But, if WotC is doing it, it must be terrible, bad for business, bad for gaming and of course, spells the doom of D&D and RPGs worldwide.

Interesting. Is a marriage proposition (engagement) a verbal contract?

Pretty obvious he didn't love her, but his stupidity is epic level if he thought giving her an engagement ring meant only "free" sex for a time with no strings attached

Interesting. Is a marriage proposition (engagement) a verbal contract?

He may have viewed it that way, but she did not. And, if he really viewed it like prostitution, why give her a symbol of eternal love? Why not just $10,000 cash? Or, give her $10,000 towards a car?

    Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman

They made a pilot with Palicki as WW, but most accounts have it as horrible, with WW having not just one secret identity, but two, and both were neurotic Ally McBeal types.

Interesting. Is a marriage proposition (engagement) a verbal contract?

My initial response would be that the contract is worth the paper it's printed on...however, a quick look-up shows that while it's been repealed in most states, some states (like Georgia) still have it on the books, though it's rarely enforced...

    Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman

There were a lot of talented actors in Spider-Man 3, but that didn't stop the movie from sucking. (The same with Amazing Spider-Man a few years back...) And, I don't think any of the actors who've played Superman over the years have been mistaken for Laurence Olivier.
