What's your gaming history before coming to 3e?

Hmm...whilst I've played all editions (well aside from Skills & Powers 2e) of D&D my history is a little more complicated. My memory is a little to foggy to place 'em all in a chronology though. From the point that MERP came out in '86 I pretty much stopped playing D&D (aside from online or in...

    Mutants and Masterminds! (Quickie Review)

Hmmm...sounds good. I've heard of a few people using it as a system for fantasy which might be fun I think.

(OT) EN Board, form of...Home Theater advisors!

Hmm...I cant really comment as I'm not sure how far 1000 US$ would actually go. It would seem tricky though, esp given you want a TV, DVD & receiver/speakers. But yeah, a progressive scan DVD player doesn't add anything if you dont have a display device capable of handling any progressive modes...

    TTT video clip

There's a brief clip from TTT (forth the three hunters!) at The One Ring . Its in Quicktime format, and goes for about 1 minute. Pretty damn good, although I did wonder about the suitability of the terrain.

    Shadowrun D20 Conversion

There might be an unofficial conversion done (as Priest is doing), but there certainly wont be an official d20 Shadowrun. At least not at the present time. Personally, I'd much rather play the original anyhow. If only I had time...damn those were some fun times when I got to play it regularly.

    BBC LOTR question

Agreed. I was just noting that I felt that the BBC adaption is the closest and best adaption to date. Especially, with Fellowship, where the BBC took 6 of the 13 hours to do their adaption. You know, when I first heard about the Jackson film I felt they should have used the BBC radio-play as a...

    BBC LOTR question

It's an adaption, not a reading. After all, its not called a radio-PLAY for nothing. A reading would be substantially longer. There is a complete reading out there, done by Rob Inglis. He even did a reading of the Silmarillion. I havent heard them though. IIRC the LOTR reading is about 26 hours.

    BBC LOTR question

Well, the only other adaptions I know of and have heard/seen are the Bakshi adaption and the Jackson adaption. Those are the ones I'm comparing it too.

    BBC LOTR question

Well, it's light years ahead of any other adaption imo.

    BBC LOTR question

It is a brilliant radio play that the BBC did back in '81. It went for 13 hours (26 30 minute episodes, which was recut into hour long chunks for the tape/CD release). As for hearing it, unless lightning strikes and you have a local station playing it you'll have to grab a copy on tape/DVD...

    More reasons to love Monte

;) Hmm...I wonder what this means for RM books like Creatures & Monsters.... You know when I first heard of this I thought it sounded like the kind of thing that appeared in the old Rolemaster companions.

Paradigm Concepts to publish Adventure/Sourcebooks for Spycraft and L5R

Excellent. Adventures for L5R is one thing I've been keen to see. Having had YEARS of experience in western adventures, but really unsure about how to design adventures and campaigns for oriental settings.

    'Origin' of Your User Name

I'm a huge Tolkien fan. For quite some time I'd been using manwe as an alias online and at some point something I wanted to join already had someone using manwe, thus I looked over manwe's aliases amd sulimo was born. Thankfully it seems obscure enough that I'm always able to use it whenever I...
