Yes. IMO gaming PDF's are pretty much useless except to have a bit of a read through. And it's not worth the effort to try and print 'em out...at least the substantial works. With the printing and binding costs, I might as well just buy the original.

I'd disagree most strenuously. The films are very much a watered down readers-digest version of the book. And frankly, with a few exceptions, about the only thing Jackson did capture is perhaps the landscape. The films dont even have Gimli...they've just got Elwood instead. Thats not to say...
