[Grim Tales] Slavelords Of Cydonia [full]

I've got an idea for a dedicated hero, which seems to fit a party need. I'm thinking about a reason why he's hanging out with a bunch of ex-soliders. I'll post a full concept later today.

[GRIM TALES] For GT regulars: Have you read Slavelords?

I am in eastern standard time. I can post once a day during the week. I'm on a fast connection. I'm pretty enthusiastic. If I qualify, great. But if someone else scores higher and is uber-committed, I can just spectate. I'll let Wulf decide. He did write the thing, after all.

[GRIM TALES] For GT regulars: Have you read Slavelords?

I've never played in a PbP, but I'm interested. What sort of time commitment are we looking at? Do you have to post every day? How's it work? Of course, I may rate a zero on Wulf's Boolean scale. I've been off the boards alltogether for awhile due to moving and I have Slavelords...

Guess What?! NC Game Day VIII is September 10th!

Actually, I live in Rock Hill, a mere 20 miles from the NC border, in the great state of (and Home to Henry) of South Carolina. But Thanks! :) Right now, I've got so much crap going on it looks best if I just come up Saturday morning anyway for the afternoon game & dinner.

[GRIM TALES] For GT regulars: Have you read Slavelords?

I ordred Slavelords and GT as a bundle directly from Indie Press Revolution a few months ago, primarily based on Old One's game at NC Game day. I have read the first couple of chapters of Slavelords and skimmed the rest. It rocks! I hope to run it someday, but now I'm too busy settling into a...

Guess What?! NC Game Day VIII is September 10th!

I'm going to do my best to make it to this one. I'm actually closer now, but now that I'm "Professor nakia" I have no idea what my life will be like once the semester starts. I may just come up for the afternoon slot with Rel's Sky Galleons game and dinner. I had a great time at the last one...

I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

Okay, a second and third viewing convinces me that Jimmy Fallon really does suck. Was there ever a skit he finished where he didn't crack up in the middle of it? A classic skit, due mainly to the genius of Farrell and Walken.

    Recylcing (settings, plots, adventures)?

"Short bus" special, you mean. And, RFisher, creating a world is what I really want to do. In fact, I have two major ideas, which are rather incompatible with one another. If I find a group that wants a traditional flavor, I'll revsit my old campaign. If they are willing to try something a...

    Recylcing (settings, plots, adventures)?

You mean not every group gets nailed with the Rock Cannon in Round 2 of a Sky Galeons game? ;) The graph poster paper idea is a good one. Consider it stolen.

    Recylcing (settings, plots, adventures)?

I wasn't thinking of making former PC's "great heroes of the land" or anything (a la Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance), but more along the lines of using former PC expolits as dressing. Like having the "Tomb of Boaz" as a shrine or noted place, where Boaz was a former PC who was killed. Just an...

A good thing, certainly. First Barry and Levon, now Cowbell. What next?

    Recylcing (settings, plots, adventures)?

I'm about to relocate, so I'll have to find another gaming group. I want to get back into DMing. I was thinking about updating/revising many elements from a homebrew campaign I ran a couple of years ago. It was fairly successful, so I was thinking I could revise some of the elements that...

I got a fever! And the only prescription... is more cowbell!

reveal is the king of great comedy sketches. Love the Cowbell. Bill Simmons, a sports/pop culture columnist at ESPN.com's Page 2, has a blogish section of his website where he posts random short comments on sports or whatever. It's called. . . "More Cowbell."

How Many Movies In How Many Days?

Just got caught up on your reviews. I'm glad you reviewed Out of Sight which is one of my favorites. Sonderburgh is a master. Just a quick comment on your review of The Killer. It reminded me of one of my favorite books -- Camus' The Plague. Except in the novel, it's not weasels, it's rats...

    Austin, TX or Urbana-Champaign, IL???

I've never been to Urbana-Champaign, but know a number of people in graduate school at Illinois. I lived in Texas for a few years and visited Austin frequently. Go to Austin. Illinois is a good school, but no one I know speaks very highly of U-C as a town. It's not horrible, from what I...

FADED GLORY: The Black Eyes of the Demon Scorpion (FINISHED!)

Hanging out in an Italian villa is an acceptable reason for missing a game day, I think! Definitly let me know how that trip goes; Sarah and I have talked about renting a villa for our "big dream vacaction before we have kids." And thanks for the move well wishes. I wish we could just go...

    Repeat viewings of Movies?

For me, the bulk of repeat movie watching ocurred in a four year span known as "college." Certian movies would get "discovered" in my group of friends and then we would collectively watch them, ad nauseum. These included: Dumb and Dumber, Happy Gilmore, The Usual Suspects, Dazed and Confused...
