    Planescape WOTC Teasing Planescape?

Countdown is done! It's "Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition: Reckless Colon Usage Returns". Edit: Oops, we're already talking about it. I guess I had a cached version of the thread or something.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Gives You Subclasses For Monk, Ranger, and Paladin

This Ranger class exacerbates a problem I have noticed with the Ranger class in general: it auto-succeeds its own mini-game. My players attracted to the class want to play a survivor, a wilderness expert, and a resourceful monster-problem solver. Those systems are pretty weak in 5e, specifically...

Check Out This Preview of the ADVENTURES IN MIDDLE EARTH Loremaster's Guide

I have some balance concerns with AiME, I am curious if you or your players noticed any potential exploits or concerns during character generation?

D&D 5E (2014) Do you embrace the silly?

We make a lot of jokes but we always circle back and say "ok no, but seriously, what do you do?" so the canon of our story is pretty serious. That being said, I've recently considered running a game that is more of a humorous pastiche of fantasy so we can turn into the skid of silliness...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Fighter: Samurai, Sharpshooter, Arcane Archer & Knight

I don't like it when they have class features that are already in feats, although they've done it in the past so it's probably not going to change. Also, the fighters "marking" is a house rule in the DMG that we already use, so I'm not sure how to take that. Overall, though, I'm surprised by...

Why there won't be a "Player's Handbook II"

I didn't hate this, because we needed 2 phbs for experienced groups anyway.

Unearthed Arcana New Barbarian Primal Paths in November 7th Unearthed Arcana

I entirely disagree. If you go and read the base Barbarian mechanics, they are completely sterile beyond "raging dangerous combatant". You originally talked about tracking deer, but that isn't a thing for the base Barbarian, and to be frank, saying that fast movement and bonus vs traps is...

Unearthed Arcana New Barbarian Primal Paths in November 7th Unearthed Arcana

I think the reason they want to use this archetype is that it works better for what they are going for. I think "Zealot" is a misnomer. Paladins are Zealots, filled with holy fury, like you describe. This is not supposed to be righteous fury. It is more like being possessed by Mars, Ares, or...

Unearthed Arcana New Barbarian Primal Paths in November 7th Unearthed Arcana

That's what backgrounds are for. Acolyte background and Barbarian class lets you pick Insight, Intimidation, Perception, and Religion. If you want a brute you can switch any for Athletics. I'm not seeing the problem.

Unearthed Arcana New Barbarian Primal Paths in November 7th Unearthed Arcana

It goes with the Rage Beyond Death feature. Staying up after 0 HP has always been a problem because it usually means you die. This primal path is basically designed to cheese the resurrection rules. He can die in every encounter and still fight till they are over, and then he can get resurrected...

Take Your D&D Adventures Into The Realms Of Middle-earth

There are actually a few janky balance issues in this book. The longest thread on their forums is about balance concerns. http://forums.cubicle7.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=6955&sid=feab3ab2091deb9352e8b406fa40a442 That said the book is pretty great. OP didn't mention the fact that the...

ZENDIKAR -- Where Magic: The Gathering and D&D Collide!

Yeah, my theory, as well, would suggest that the M:tG initiated this. My conjecture was regarding the question "why not sooner?"
