    Role/Roll Playing

Basically, I do both... preferably at the same time. But, I do put role over roll, and enjoy meaningful characters more than uber-awesome-mega characters.

Okay... That is what I thought too. How about a weapon of choice? Any idea? I can't efficiently dual wield, so dagger is suboptimal. To be able to use shadow blade feat, I need to choose from dagger, short sword, sai, siangham, unarmed strike, and spiked chain, and almost all of them are off...

    Xigbar

You might want to try warlock too. At 6th level you get infinite dimensional doors through flee the scene invocation.

    Shadow Phoenix

Yeah... you are right. So, basically, I get all required feats except spring attack on lvl 1, take finesse on lvl 3, spring att. on 6, and Shadow Blade (thx for reminding me) on 15 or 18. A solid idea. Now to see which weapon to get. It should be Shadow hand compatible for that feat to work...

Give this race a level adjustment...

OMG... after reading your posts, I read mine again, and saw what I typed (or mistyped)... LOL My deepest apologies. So, decrease every value by one. Not 2, 3 and (preposterous)4, but 1, 2 and 3... The idea to spread those abilities over lvls is still a good one IMHO. Btw, although this is OT, I...

Give this race a level adjustment...

When I saw +2 wis and +4 cha, I said +2. But as I kept reading, I kept adding. All abilities are very powerful. And as a cherry on a powerhouse cake, cleric as a favored class, which is huge combined with stats. If I was your DM, I'd give it LA +3 or +4 if I had a bad day. Some advice: drop cha...

    Shadow Phoenix

Uhm... okay. This game is starting Wednesday evening. Any help I get until then will be appreciated. If I get none, I'll figure it out myself. Right now, I am trying to decide whether to go STR/WIS or DEX/finesse build. Hmm...

    Multiclassing is for the weak.

If they are power-players, there is nothing you can do single class to bring yourself to their power level. But, if you really want to stick to single class, go druid and rain destruction XD (also, if you are not against 1 prestige class, take on Planar Shepherd and make them cry lol)

    Shadow Phoenix

Eldritch glaive is awesome, but I don't think it is compatible with this build. Correct me if I am wrong, but pouncing gives full attack action and not full round action required by glaive. Also, 6d6 blast simply isn't good enough.

    Shadow Phoenix

Oki, as my paladin story nears to the closure, DM told us to prepare for the new session. I want to return to my favorite class - warlock, and I was thinking something along the line of mystic theurge. I like to make a "leveling plan" and have it written down to a tiniest detail (I do that even...

    D&D 3.x 3e dragonborn

This. It is basically a template-like race. You take one humanoid race, strip everything except ability changes (+2Dex, -2Con for elves, etc.), add in Dragonborn +2Con, -2Dex, and choose one of the aspects (similar to Hellbred), which grant cool abilities which scale with your lvl.

    D&D 3.x Warlock 3.5 ?????

Scrap the last level of Eld Disc and get Mindbender for uber Telepathy. Also, note that this build is VERY skill dependent, and it is very likely you will have skill points stretched pretty tight, especially in single digit levels. Picking human AND getting int 14 is good choice (needles to say...

Why EXP penalty for Multiclassing anyway?

No need for apologies. I was a bit incomprehensive; a fact that happens a lot whilst I juggle my family, job and games, due to time boundaries and not enough sleep :D

Why EXP penalty for Multiclassing anyway?

Sorry I had been misunderstood. I know it is like that by RAW. I am only pointing out that not everything RAW makes sense IRL, hence should not be compared. Anyway, Tiger got his answer above, and we keep rambling on off-topic :D

Why EXP penalty for Multiclassing anyway?

I can totally picture a court-bard being lawful... loyal to his/her king/queen, to the laws of his country and living by the rules set by society. Can monks be chaotic? Why not? I think the monk thing is based on discipline they must have to adapt into their circles. But those two aren't the...

Why EXP penalty for Multiclassing anyway?

I know what you mean Tiger. In games I preside, I rarely impose the rule of XP penalty, mainly to encourage less obvious and more original builds. Players seem to like it, and so I regularly see such things as gnome fighter/barbarians or half-orc wizard/fighters. The point of the rules is that...

    Paladin of Mystra questions

Okay, apologies first for not getting to this earlier. The game progresses really well. Although ruling is very, very different from RAW. Since two of our party members are new to D&D, DM decided to make it easier, and more fun IMO (especially for new players). First he decided to drop XP...

    Paladin of Mystra questions

So, I had a first real encounter last night. Since I am at work now, I won't go into detail yet. Will let you know how it went when I arrive home :)

    Paladin of Mystra questions

Suel seems pointless to me, since DM ruled all arcane spells I would get via Sword of the Arcane Order Paladin spells (hence no ASF). Mystic Fire Knight already has hefty number of uses of Spellshatter too, rendering second Suel class feature moot. The only thing I would get would be spells to...
