North Baltimore - Anything but D&D

I'll try this again.. 2 of us in North Baltimore, looking to game. Pretty much anything but D&D. DitV, d20 Modern, True20, you name it. I'll GM if I must. Looking to game Saturday/Sunday afternoons, 2-3 times a month.

[Green Ronin] Lucky 7 Sale Begins Now!

For anyone who sees this - I highly recommend Noir. Yes, it's for M&M1e, but it is an excellently written product that is highly useful for non1e and non M&M games. It's a great all around resource for Noir style gaming.

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

I'd rather say we're on 2.0, since it started with M&M and Blue Rose was the 1.5 edition. :P And in spite of running a d20 modern chat room, True20 will be likely to replace 100% of my gaming. I'll still purchase some d20 modern stuff as I try to convert, but I will slow all my non-True20...

I can already see ways around this though...

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

Noooooooo! Definately don't need True20 1.5E forcing us to rebuy everything. I'd like to see like the M&M line where they do a "True20 Annual" that boasts the best of house rules, maybe 1-2 microsettings, etc. I'm optimistic to see some more settings from this as well. I just hope that with...

SC2.0 Style NPC Generation For Modern

Bump. What's the word on this release? I know that things with Gareth delayed some items, but I'm still hoping to see this soon!

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

I certainly wasn't EXPECTING this to cover any other genre. However, my only complaint was that it seemed very limited to Military and Law Enforcement/Espionage. No more. No less. I certainly loved the book, and the modern chapter was very nice for it's limited scope. But add in that space and...

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

The Noir book is probably 70% non-stat anyway, and what stats it DOES have pertains more to Supers (since it's built for M&M) than regular games anyway. Toss the stats, and the book is still pretty usable, IMHO. Some of the feats should be portable (there's only like 6 of them anyways). The...

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

All depends on what you want to do with it... 2 chapters are strictly modern (Space - Modern). 1 chapter is fairly modern, but horror can be fantasy I wouldn't get it to try to incorporate the new role creation...I'd wait for a fresh start for that. The one great thing is more feats. I am a...

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

I'll have to look through it again. It was probably the best supplement I've ever purchased, regardless of rules set. And it's for M&M1e, which may or may not be different. Hands down, without the stat stuff, it's a valuable resource. I'd just like to see it done in True20 style :)

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

God I really hope they follow this up with Companion II. I'd like to see a chapter on: Pulp Noir Western Gaslight/Victorian Apocalypse (there is a small bit on it in Horror - but could definately use a full chapter in companion II)

    True20 Companion: Who's got it?

Yay! True20 companion is (FINALLY!) out. I downloaded it earlier and read through some of it. Who has it? Opinions? I'm really excited to see the non-fantasy setting chapters to see how I can move all my modern gaming from d20 modern to True 20.

    D20 Modern in 2007?

Not to mention, the question was intentionally vague, and the answer intentionally short. How about: Will we continue to see support for the d20 modern line in 2007? At least if they only gave a yes/no answer we'd see where we are for this year.

    Pulp Fantasy

I agree. At first I thought "Pulp Fantasy -- how lame. And I thought Urbana Arcana sucked..now THIS?!?!?" Then reading it...it's for d20 modern. It's compatible with Thrilling Tales. Doesn't say if has magic using drow in mini skirts or not. I certainly think a demo would be wise, but also...

    I actually want a 4th edition! [semi-rant]

I was hoping for 4e...just to revive the d20 modern line. I figured a new core rules set would bring along a new print of the modern variant. I'm depressed...d20 modern is dead.

    D20 Modern in 2007?

Why would I want to buy a book with 4-5 half settings, knowing full well each one is likely going to put out another FULL setting book months later? Maybe for something like Razor it's ok, but Blood Throne and such are (hopefully) going to have full lines growing from them...at least as much as...

    D20 Modern in 2007?

Can't make a good natured joke (including the fact that I SAID I was just joking) anymore? The critics are harsh around here. Besides, we WERE talking about WoD.

    D20 Modern in 2007?

You're on it. Aside from d20 Future, all the books are kind of flimsy and incomplete. They give you a couple of campaign models, but just enough to make you want more and angry you didn't get enough. Really...7 pages just aint enough to really get a model going. I'd rather see 2 models get 20-30...

    D20 Modern in 2007?

I saw the very same thing in a Castle Ravenloft thread today. Those of us who've gamed more than say 10+ years differ in thinking. The poster said that d20 basically created a new group of gamers that need handfed every little bit of setting/rules/etc. I don't disagree. Vig, you know where to...
