D&D 5E (2014) The 5th edition PHB: Sorry but when it comes to functionality, it deserves a 'one star' rating.

It's not just monsters who get spellcasting like that. Look at Drow, Tieflings. Look at Shadows and Elements monks. They get spells without spell tables specifying levels.

D&D 5E (2014) Bounded Accuracy: does it deliver as promised?

Certain monsters at any particular CR tend to be lower AC while making up for it in damage or HP or whatever. It seems this is often the case with beasts - which are overly represented in the Basic DM guide, and monstrosities. The slightly tougher and better-armored humanoids (like Hobgoblins)...

    D&D 5E (2014) What can I teach a sorcerer?

Um, general practice casting spells with supervision to prevent calamity. Potentially let him take the Ritual Caster feat down the line. If there are actual sorcerers in the guild they could be all Obi-Wan for him.

    D&D 5E (2014) Good news about DungeonScape

I'd guess the Basic Rules will be available from the start..?

D&D 5E (2014) Does anyone who got an mm at Gencon want to offer up spoilers to us?

What about Charisma? He could make up for a low score with social events. Maybe holding some big balls.

D&D 5E (2014) What Subclasses would you like to see?

A pet-type Druid could be nice. A spell-focused Bard would fill in a gap too. College of Lore is more of a skill-monkey with minor magical addition.

D&D 5E (2014) Can you concentrate on a spell while resting?

Concentration can't be that demanding, you can continue it while attacking, performing acrobatics, negotiating, disarming taps and so on. It's so easy only damage can break your concentration, or outright unconsciousness.

D&D 5E (2014) Can you concentrate on a spell while resting?

Alas, alack. Gone so soon, sweet Turnip. A bucket of worms if you prefer.

D&D 5E (2014) Can you concentrate on a spell while resting?

That's easy, hex your pet awakened turnip between fights.

D&D 5E (2014) Heavy Armour Master and Resistance

Elves might be able to for long rests.

    D&D 5E (2014) Optimal Multiclassing

I really like the choices 5E forces for multiclassing. I was considering making a Barbarian -> Rogue (medium armor/shield/Str rapier sneak attacker) multiclass but it's an interesting choice deciding when to swap. At 1 with a single rage and the armor proficiencies? At 2 for Reckless attack and...

D&D 5E (2014) (More) ruminations on the future of D&D

Well here in the UK Waterstones (the biggest remaining highstreet book retailer) are stocking the 5E PHB. In theory. As with Amazon UK it never appears to be in stock.

D&D 5E (2014) Access to Ability Boosting Items in your game

Well I'm considering jumping in on a few Encounters sessions, so the official rules would matter then too.

D&D 5E (2014) Access to Ability Boosting Items in your game

I expect it will. Hopefully with significant limitations, fingers crossed. Like if such a Belt set Str to 20 and to buff it past that point required a use/day spell-like ability requiring Concentration. Or if it simultaneously lowered one or more other stats, gave a particular damage...

D&D 5E (2014) Access to Ability Boosting Items in your game

I didn't say that, I said there will be Belts of X Giant Strength in one form or another :) What form they'll take and what requirements they'll have are a separate matter.
