"Tabletop D&D Has Lost Its Way" Says Pathfinder Video Game Exec

NWN2 had its strengths - like having a full party compared to 1 companion at a time in NWN1. The best thing about 2 was the Mask of the Betrayer expansion though. It's right up there with the Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate 2 games when it comes to top CRPGs.

    D&D 5E (2014) My Crazy Theory about 2015 5e

I doubt it, if that was the case it wouldn't have make much sense for them to lose two of their editorial staff.

    D&D 5E (2014) Did I invent this NPC ability?

Gnoll Pack Lord has something along those lines:

    D&D 5E (2014) What would you play?

It's not one of the best feats for Monks, they get proficiencies in all saves as a class feature at higher levels. They also have almost zero use for concentration. Monks want feats like Mobile, Tough, Lucky, and possibly Sentinel, Elemental Adept (if elemental monk), Mage Slayer.

    D&D 5E (2014) What would you play?

Nah, not shadow monk, elemental monk! With those stats you can spend your level 4 ABI on Elemental Adept: Fire and rock out with Fangs of the Fire Snake!

    Bigby's oughta do the trick.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Concentration Bugging You?

Oh? It's clearly stated that a creatures "space" isn't the same as their physical size.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Concentration Bugging You?

Easy, any creature with with functional wings or with reach in combat has body parts extending beyond the squares they take up on the ground.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Concentration Bugging You?

Squares are a shorthand abstraction. DM gets the final say. If an enemy has 10-15ft reach on biting attacks it's pretty safe to say they extend beyond their squares when in combat.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Concentration Bugging You?

Wow, pushover DM or what. No huge creature is going to neatly fit inside forcecage unless it's curled up sleeping imo.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Concentration Bugging You?

No spell is ideal for every situation, my group has found those to be pretty great though.

    D&D 5E (2014) Is Concentration Bugging You?

Concentration is fine if you plan ahead and pick up the good non-concentration spells too, like Blink, Mirror Image, instant damage spells, Blindness/Deafness, uplevelled Bestow Curse, Contagion, Demiplane and so on.

D&D 5E (2014) Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

What you need is for the party to collectively try to break Legendary Resistance ASAP, then a Paladin can compel duel ;-)

I was confused by you rating Bigby's by it's damage, that spell is more about in combat utility.

D&D 5E (2014) Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

I agree about melee fighters though. Even monk, Eagle Totem and Tempest Cleric don't get their flight till fairly high level. Sentinel is hugely important

D&D 5E (2014) Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

Well ideally the Hand would try to pull a dragon into range of a ground-based PC who can take over the grapple before it's killed. Or a Sentinel user.
