Checkmate for BOZ and Shade !

Would depend on the king's size, I would think. If the king is medium-sized and has reach with the dire mace, then I would say another medium-sized user could also wield it and have reach. If the king is large, he has a natural reach, and a medium character would have a hard time wielding his...

    Converting monsters from Imagine Magazine

The Possession text looks much more complete now :) Any ideas for Unnerving Fade? Do the features return, or does the victim need to suffer through life faceless? Victim loses true sight, gains Blindsight instead? Not sure how breathing or eating would work... I'm all for flavor, but I...

    Converting monsters from Imagine Magazine

I would say if the body is reduced to 0 hp, it would die, and the original soul would not be able to return to the body. The next question is: what happens to the gebbeth at that point? I would say it would be driven out, but probably not killed; just as a ghost does not die if its possessed...

    Converting monsters from Imagine Magazine

With the Unnerving Fade ability -- if the Gebbeth is driven out of the body, does the body gain its features back? This should be included in the descriptive text for the ability.

    Planescape Converting Planescape monsters

Shade -- you have 2 "Spell-Like Abilities" sections in the homebrews post 1/hour—color spray (DC x) as the spell cast by a 3rd-level sorcerer. Caster level 6th. The save DC is Charisma-based. 1/day--dancing lights (DC 12), invisibility. Caster level 6th.

    D&D 4E Devils in 4E

Damn! I thought I had them all. Apparently I only have them all, up to my spending limits back then... ;)

    D&D 4E Devils in 4E

*shakes fist* I own the 4 Planescape boxed sets from 2nd Edition, and I have adapted that cosmology to my 3rd Edition campaign. Unravel if they wish, but some of us are not going to change our views of the multiverse structure! We will...rebel! Or something... :)

    Yitsan

I posted this is the homebrew index first, but it probably should have been posted here first. Here is the Yitsan, from the 2nd Edition Spelljammer Appendix II, converted to 3.5: Type: Large Monstrous Humanoid Hit Dice: 10d8 + 20 (65 hp) Initiative: +7 Speed: 40 ft, Swim 30 ft Armor Class: 15...

Immune to Illusions, but automatically fails saving throws vs. mind-affecting effects? Or Immune to Illusions, but saves normally against other mind-affecting effects?

    Ultimate Homebrew Index

I converted the Yitsan from Spelljammer Appendix II (2nd Edition) to 3.5. It can be found here: http://www.dragon-rider.us/shadowchaser/Creatures/Conversions/Spelljammer%20-%20Appendix%20II/Yitsan.html The flavor text has not been added yet, so it is really only good for those who own the...

Tweaking Mindflayers; changing extract from instant death to acid damage

I agree with Mortis: 1 point of each per round per tentacle attached.

    Upgraded undead?

Fast healing was my first thought, as well. As BOZ noted, you will also need to create an ability for them to avoid destruction when reduced to -10 hp by means other than Positive Energy. Magic Immunity (excluding Cure spells) and some DR/- could be a good base.

    Substituting Spell-Like Abilities

I could definitely see this as a supplement, or part of a rewrite of a supplement somewhere down the road, perhaps even as an addition to a monster manual in the future? I like the idea. Garnfellow -- would you like to post an example and see what we can do with it? A solid example or 2 to...

    Acts of God? Think again...

A few questions: Can this ability be used anytime, or only during a rainstorm? i.e. can he use it if it's just foggy, using the fog as the "water in the air" component? Does the "Master of the Tempest" ability prevent him from needing to make the usual Concentration checks when casting spells...

    Astereater

I found some very limited flavor text on sulerin.com: "These beholder-like creatures appear to be orbs of innert stone, but their stony-like eyelid hides their central eye and ridges hide its toothy maw. They are malicious carnivores that readily eat any creature they come across." I do own...

A Monstrous Tree and Slam Attacks

It has a bunch of pre-reqs, IIRC. If you want to use it as a PC, you pretty much need to be a Fighter (or multiclassed Fighter) and have a decent Dex. However, for adding to creatures as a bonus feat, it works great! :)

Choosing themes for our Vermin query

"Extraplanar vermin" is a nice idea, so it has my vote. And that added intelligence can make them even more nasty :)
