    The Selgaunt Campaign

Don't forget to roll damage dice at the same time -- even if you know you missed (not saying Art will miss). It saves time. :) A "plan B" might also be a good idea -- what if something more threatening rears a pseudopod, or shoots at you? I'm not trying to be picky -- but again, it saves time...

    The Selgaunt Campaign

Round 1 - Monster actions The wet slurping sound moves closer to the bridge, though it's still clearly below that level. It sounds big and heavy. If you can see it (use your judgment): OOC: This is Initiative 1. Something dislodges a few more pebbles from the rubble heap directly opposite...

    The Selgaunt Campaign

First PbP combat! OOC: Okeydoke -- it's been two days, I'm moving on. :) Hand on the hilt of his rapier, Artemis steps gingerly out onto the canted walkway. The torchlight behind him provides little in the way of clues about his surroundings -- apart from the broken bridge, it could stretch...

    [Nov] What are you reading?

I remember that as being a pretty good book. For me, it's Alastair Reynolds' Redemption Ark (almost done), followed by Terry Pratchett's Going Postal. RA is excellent hard SF, and I imagine GP will be as enjoyable as Pratchett's other books. :)

    The Selgaunt Campaign - OOC

Dammit, why did you have to go and spoil my plot like that? I mean, it was going to be called a gorlab, and partly made of ice, but still. Well, back to the drawing board, I guess. No XP for you. ;)

More Charisma Than a Roomful of Nymphs (finished, link to full SH in last post)

Impromptu Conference Indicating to Mephiskaran that they needed to speak amongst themselves, the Follies headed back out into the hallway. All but Tal were glad to escape the bitter cold -- the aasimar could barely feel it -- but Thissiken seemed more interested in the food and stayed behind...

    Post Icons Disabled

Will they stay selected when you edit a post that has an icon? That would be hot. :)

    The Selgaunt Campaign

OOC: I want to give others a chance to respond, so for the moment just a minor correction on what Tal said (sorry for any confusion in my description): the pile of rubble is fifty to sixty feet away, under the far end of the walkway. It isn't close to the gap in the bridge at all, and can't be...

Cupric's memories Cupric's new memories: tdr, I'll leave it up to you how Cupric would react to this. It only takes an instant, and the memories are just there -- but clearly new. Edit: tdr requested a clarification -- here it is, as provided by bardic knowledge 30 ([18]+12):

    The Selgaunt Campaign

Shoulder to shoulder, Artemis and Tal get a good grip on the bottom of the door-panel. Tal ribs Artemis a bit, hoping to goad him into one of his famous feats of strength. At the same time, Cupric strikes up a tune -- although this is no mere tune. It's one of the songs he picked up from the...

    The Selgaunt Campaign - OOC

You spend a turn attempt to do it, so it'd be a standard action (just like turning). Same goes for all of the "spend a turn/rebuke attempt" feats.

Do you have a website for your campaign?

I played in a game once a month that had a campaign site, and I found it incredibly useful -- it was a great way to remember what had happened at the last month, and to stay immersed in the game between sessions. Since I was starting up a game that would also meet once a month, I figured I'd go...

What did you watch (or read) for Halloween?

I watched the recent remake of Dawn of the Dead, including all the extras -- it was awesome!

Moving to NYC in a coupla weeks...

In terms of finding a group, you might give these guys a try: http://www.nerdnyc.com/. I gamed with one of them at GemCon this year, and chatted with the folks at their booth, and in all cases they were cool folks.

Do you follow any PbP games?

Pretty much. Whether the SH's style is novel-like or more campaign log-y, it's still likely to be easier to sit down and read just by virtue of being less spread out, with more material concentrated into fewer posts. Hopefully that makes sense.

Do you follow any PbP games?

I started running one a little while back, and I read big chunks of several different PbPs for research into how I wanted to approach mine. I can see dropping back in to get inspiration and ideas, but not following someone else's PbP game regularly -- I''d rather read the Story Hour of that PbP. ;)

    The Selgaunt Campaign - OOC

Just an aside, but I'm really enjoying the level of characterization and wit you guys are putting into your posts. I think everyone is doing a bang-up job at taking advantage of one of the strengths of PbP -- keep it up. :D

    The Selgaunt Campaign

OOC: Artemis finds the catch at the top of the panel, but it's so choked with dust that he doesn't think there's much chance of picking it. Let's get a quick roundup on where everyone is on the map. I left it in its last state to help jog your memory. Feel free to post your new location over in...

    The Selgaunt Campaign

OOC: Tal's been down this road before, and it's called "Groin Strain Way." Except that this time, when he wedges his fingers in underneath it, the door-panel actually moves a little -- but just a little. There's no way Tal can do this alone, but this is the first door panel you've encountered...
