D&D General Is there a D&D setting that actually works how it would with access to D&D magic?

Very clever. Magic is not technology as science is not magic. Completely different ways of reasoning.

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

Possible, but my personal feeling is not originated by differences in fantasy style, I like heroic fantasy as I like ss, grim and df. For me it is an actual sillyness feeling.

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

Not Absolutely but... as a DM it doesn't boost my imagination anymore. I still play as PC and DM. And I still find no reason to change game system. But definitely do not buy D&D manuals anymore, sacrificing my collector nature, because the art for me is uninspiring and silly. I was buying...

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

Nothing ageist (oh my god it seems that there's an ISM in everything one say). I'm simply telling you that the previous edition of the game where normally focused to a range of age (obvious since it is a product with a main target), with the rest of out of main target people more or less...

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

We can argue for centuries around low and high. For me vince, also in rialtho, use magic as an expedient not the center of the narration. It's difficult to me express it in english, sorry.

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

My fault. I've written rpg but I had D&D campaign setting in mind. Don't exclude that with a different set of rules and rpg game philosophy it could work.

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

While I really love Pratchett, I don't believe that his worldbuilding style is compatible with a rpg campaign setting.

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

because is Vance an Lieber-like. It is a matter of fantasy versus real elements. You have to balance. For being really immersive it has to be as realistic as possible, with some sparse elements of fantasy inside. Fantasy elements are the weird and funny part but realistic elements are the...

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

PRO: 5ed is a very good balance between ruling and roling and it is a very robust baseline to build homebrewed worlds. CONS: Inflation of weird and fantasy elements. Less wide in embracing different customers age. More focused on social interaction. Generally watered. For me it has lost all the...

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

ok I really uinderstood that you were against biological negative traits. My apologies. So you are against a cultural traits that become a biological trait? So do I, but simply because is poor narrative.

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

I wonder what Tolkien would think about the whole thing of biological limit suppression, giving the fact that he builts Hobbit folk around their biological limits to drive them toward their overcoming. A beautiful arc of narration and a strong moral teaching to be cancelled by his editor for the...

Then you are right by logic and not by formal logic? Or you are right above logic? You don't need to be logical to be right, isn't it? Chum? I have sincere doubt, and your tone seems to be the one of who is starting to lack arguments. Exactly. Romani = Kender is false. Period. You are very...

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

I'm not against biological negative traits by principle. For instance human race has a very big biological problem to cope with long term problems. Everybody recognize it and it does not offend anybody. I can build a fantasy race with a lot of biological problem without reasonably offend anyone.

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

1- First support your accusation with proofs, than let a judge decide. Or do you think self proclaimed victims would be the judges in trials? 2- You can do better than be offensive jumping to unconsistent conclusions 3- It's called coherence: I don't care about people unable or unwilling to be...

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

I've already explained: 1. don't want to live in a world in which the weight of proof resides on the defense side. 2. don't want to live in a world where a pressure group can lead to silence somebody on the basis of false and unproven conclusions if it is not enough for you, its a simple...

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

You seem to miss the point: unfortunately for those opposing these arguments, there is no ridiculous reason. Since one is offended you have to remove. Nor there is a unlogic reason. The fact that one feels offended is sufficient reason to remove or avoid. Frankly speaking I can find this barely...
