    D&D 4E Running Commentary on Rel's 4e Campaign (Complete 8/2/10)

Cool. Is that it, or is there some more to come?

    Build your own adventure path

I've gone even further: I decided that I'd write my own AP. Yes, I know, I must be mad. Hear me out. Basically, I started out the campaign with the PC's working in the Militia for a small town which had seen an increase in attacks from a nearby tribe of goblins. Having been instrumental in...

    D&D 4E Running Commentary on Rel's 4e Campaign (Complete 8/2/10)

And some dragon bone golems leaching the power of The Mists, I shouldn't wonder ;)

    D&D 4E Running Commentary on Rel's 4e Campaign (Complete 8/2/10)

You moved it so it's harder to see when you've updated it, didn't you? ;) :p

    Deadlands & Earthdawn

There's kind of a Points of Light vibe going on there, with disparate groups of survivors emerging from magic-proof kaers (or bunkers) and trying to re-build civilisation. The Horrors add a Lovecraftian feel to the game, are extremely hard to kill and make a fun (if nervous) gaming experience...

    TRAILBLAZER - PDF Release - Discussion/Questions/Errata

I've been using some of the bits of Trailblazer in my campaign - solos & elites , Action Points, Treasure Packets and the lovely, lovely encounter design system. These things have gone down an storm - especially the deadly hard-to-kill Solos - so much so that, whilst my game is on...

    updates of older modules

Paizo updated The Mud Sorceror's Tomb for 3.5E in issue 138. It is set, perhaps appropriately, for 14th-level characters: sufficiently powerful to overcome some of the nasty traps and tricks therein, but not at the epic stage yet. Whilst I haven't run either, they seem to have kept the spirit...

I need a city - looking for product recommendations

The Lost City of Barakus features a very un-lost city of Endhome as the PCs' base. The city is nicely detailed without being over-elaborate and contains a number of adventure seeds and mini-scenarios which can be adapted or dropped in to play.

What are you favorite/least favorite Dungeon Adventures

I DM'ed the 2e Adventure Dragon's Delve and much enjoyment was had both sides of the screen. It was published in Issue 62, here's the skinny... For 3e I ran Depths of Rage and that wasn't bad.

    D&D 4E Running Commentary on Rel's 4e Campaign (Complete 8/2/10)

Do you keep a list of unresolved plot hooks which might prove helpful? I mean, do your notes have details of things which need to be done, or do you just remember stuff? Thanks for the great updates, BTW. Please keep 'em coming. :D

What are the worst classic D&D adventure modules?

A real clunker from the dying days of 2E: The Crypt of Lyzandred the Mad. You get: maps of two levels of interconnecting chambers, numbered, totalling 50 locations in all; 100 unkeyed room descriptions containing logical, word and mathematical puzzles; instructions "to put them together as the...

    D&D 3.5 - Looking for good non-dungeoncrawling adventures

There are lots of free adventures available in the WotC Third Edition Archive, some will be dungeon crawls, but I think that quite a few are not. They are all PDF files which can be freely downloaded. If you can poke around the Wizards' Archive, there's a set of sites called Vicious Venues...

    Which "new" adventures are classics?

The first third party adventure released under the OGL was The Wizard's Amulet, the free pdf from Necromancer. It was on the servers on the day that the PHB was released. Clark (Orcus) Peterson was involved in the OGL discussions.

    Which "new" adventures are classics?

For Adventure Paths and the like, I'd suggest that nominating all 12 adventures is probably overkill, unless all 12 have that certain something, and I'd suggest that's not the case. Having said that, I'd be more than happy to nominate The Whispering Cairn, Part 1 of The Age of Worms AP. It has...

Classic Adventures Modules -- wishes and failures

So, when I started DM'ing (about 1994 or thereabouts), I wrote almost all my own adventures - or else stole ideas from Dungeon or modules, rarely using them wholesale. Thus, alas, I have never run or played GDQ, Ravenloft, T1-4, etc. I want to - especially the GDQ series - but there is so much...

    Whatever happened to Necromancer Games?

I'd be guessing that Necromancer Games won't be at GenCon this year, either... ;)

    Meat Grinder/Killer Dungeon Adventures

And not just the latter stages of Age of Worms. I have seen many, many comments that Three Faces of Evil (I think the second module on the Path) is a meatgrinder as well.

    Whatever happened to Necromancer Games?

Clark had some neat ideas for an Adventure Path if he'd managed to get the 4E incarnation of Necromancer off the ground. I would love to see him write and produce it for whatever version of D&D he wants. The Iron Tower had some cool ideas attached to it.

Important: Please Read! Changes Are Coming!

Will I be pissed off if my signature disappears because I can't afford to pay $3 per month? Probably. Will it stop me posting here? Probably not. But taking away something that users have now and are used to, rather than adding kewl new content for that $3 seems to be the wrong way to take...
