Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

An alternate name might be nice though. I liked when they had alternate names for dinosaurs that were a little less odd to say in a medieval setting

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

I don't think there is anything wrong with having some built in flavor/lore behind psionics. The little details they put about various things in 5th edition is something that I really like. Like how demons dissolve into foul ichor when defeated. The Far Realm as a concept is D&D is fine to me...

    Sage Advice (18 May 2015)

I'm pretty sure the Lucky feat with disadvantage works like this: You roll 2d20 as you do when rolling with disadvantage, then you decide to use a luck point and roll an extra d20; you choose which 2 of the 3 dice will be used to determine disadvantage (like the 2 highest if you are smart). So...

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

This is precisely what I'd like to see. Like a version of Dungeon Magazine that focuses on settings (with some adventure content) instead of focusing on adventures (with some setting content).

D&D 5E (2014) Is 5th Edition Directly Descended from Star Wars Saga Edition?

The condition track looks to be the only thing that really came from SAGA edition. It looks to be more difficult to abuse in 5th edition though.

    D&D 5E (2014) Forgotten Realms version?

I think the most lore accurate would probably use the 3rd edition maps with the 4th edition political changes. Countries that were drowned or destroyed like Var the Golden or Halruaa are probably still ruins, just ruins that can be salvaged now.

D&D 5E (2014) MM sold out on amazon

I noticed it was sold out yesterday before that kotaku article was up.

D&D 5E (2014) I think we can safely say that 5E is a success, but will it lead to a new Golden Era?

Apparently the Monster Manual is currently sold out on amazon at the moment.

D&D 5E (2014) Is the 5e Monster Manual the best MM ever?

I think this new Monster Manual has the best art for the monster entries themselves that I have seen yet, and that is going back to 1st edition. The flavor text is different, but not better or worse than some older editions. I like the descriptions of how the various evil outsiders disintegrate...

D&D 5E (2014) Barbarian vs Fighter vs Monk

I would be interested in seeing a multiple weaker foe analysis also. On the subject of the monk. There might be tactics the monk can use to mitigate damage from a single foe. For example against the fire giant. A monk could pull a bit of a hit and run against a fire giant by flurrying, using...

    D&D 5E (2014) Knowledge: Nobility and Local?

Only big problem I see with adding "far greater granularity" on to the 5e system is avoiding the problems that such granularity caused in a system like 3e/3.5e. The problem where the DM would have to make the DC of tasks really high to challenge the players that concentrated on certain skills...

Monte Cook's new RPG: Numenera [UPDATED]

For those who think there is completely unbelievable or that there is no possibility of humans or close-to-human creatures in 1 billion years, there are "living fossils" on Earth now. Some of which have changed very little 300-500 million years.

    D&D 3.x 3.5e Warforged Juggernaut with Bodyfeeder

I'm just curious, what book does it actually say that having an aura of a certain school means that the effect is of that school. That particular property can be made with either a necromancy spell or a psionic power, so it's weird that the effect would always be necromancy.

    D&D 3.x 3.5e Warforged Juggernaut with Bodyfeeder

Can a 4th level Warforged Juggernaut (with "...immunity to...necromancy effects.") benefit from the Bodyfeeder weapon property (Aura: Moderate; (DC 19) necromancy)?
