    Those who like the Daggerheart approach are the ones talking about engagement and not immersion from my perspective on those words. Something can be interesting and engaging but still not immersive. Immersion for me is staying in character as much as possible.

    I'd argue it is vitally important for me. YMMV. This is why D&D is so much more fun a game for me than say a board game. I like both but if I want a board game D&D is not my choice. D&D offers me something far deeper.

    I've never played CoC so not speaking to that game (I don't care for horror) but 5e is medium crunch because 3e/Pathfinder fill the heavy slot. Fate would be light crunch.

    Is the issue verisimilitude? You could just abstract it and say a turn is a turn and the time is undefined. What matters is what you can do in a turn which may be driven by their official time but to me that isn't always true.

    My two biggest are Drivethru and Warehouse 23. I have bought from Paizo directly. I also get stuff on Kickstart/Backerkit on occasion. My default is Drivethru unless it's GURPS then WH23. My GURPS purchases though of late have equalled everything else.

    This is how I feel about the GURPS system. Many of their supplements are just plain good information in general and worth it even if you never played GURPS. Sounds like the same might be true of the Cypher stuff.
