D&D 3.x Got any cool 3e Alchemy rules?

Let's see. In addition to what Azure mentioned, there's also an Alchemist core class in the Swashbuckling Adventures campaign setting book, and a Tinker core class in the Magic sourcebook, both by AEG. If you're just looking for lists of stuff to make with the skill, Bastion Press' Alchemy...

Poll: Monte and Sean's Ghostwalk Book

I'll probably grab the book right away - the idea of playing a ghost is the main attraction, not the names. Ghost PCs sound a lot more reasonable than many of the Savage Species monster classes. And the fact that there is an entire book to it, there will hopefully be some more in depth...

    Love, truuuuueeeeee love

I once played a campaign where me and another player agreed to play a married couple. I played a female paladin, and he played a male ranger. The romance part wasn't too bad; we never got too..., um, detailed. It was even kinda fun at some points. My character got pregnant and had twins...

OMG, I just had the funnest session of my entire life!

When you described your party, I was surprised by how similar it was to what my players are playing: female lynx-lady ranger male tiger-man paladin female owl-lady druid male wolf-man rogue (Plus our other PCs: male lizard-man fighter, male human alchemist (wizard variant), male elf bard, male...

What Core Classes do you allow in your campaign?

Re: Re: FungiMuncher Well, I have my campaign home page here: http://www.iwaynet.net/~bradrick/fantasyearth/index.htm It's certainly a work in progress (the campaign and the web page). Remember that the emphasis is on pseudo-historical. :) I have tons of stuff not yet converted to web...

What Core Classes do you allow in your campaign?

My campaign is pseudo-historical, set in dark ages Europe. I allow all the standard PH classes with the following exceptions: The Monk is called a Pankrationist, a Greek martial artist. The oriental weapons have been dropped in favor of gauntlets, daggars and short swords. "Ki" strike is...

    Rolling all 18s

Best I've actually seen has been three 18s. I agree with Zerovoid's suggestion. I've seen two characters with all 18s, where the players claimed they were legal rolls. My only response was "Yeah, right..." I wasn't the DM in either case, so was POed when one of the DMs allowed it...

Make Yourself A Campaign Setting Warhammer Style: Use Real World Maps!

I call my campaign Fantasy Earth. It takes place in Europe after the fall of the western half of the Roman Empire. Does that count? :D Basically, I took the really old maps of Earth (with all the geographical errors), combined the mythology of the fairy realms and the theories of alchemy...

    Action Points/Dice in D&D

I'm considering using this in my newly revised campaign. The issue I'm trying to address is awarding player actions without experience bonuses. The main reason my players chose to restart at first level was the disparity in character levels. There was one seventh level character, a couple...

    [RFC] Your spellbooks are round?!

Hey, I really like this idea! I've eliminated standard wizards from my campaign. Never liked their generalness, and their MO doesn't fit the world. However, this is cool. Consider it swiped! Should provide some spooky villains. :D FM

Has anyone USED these books in their campaigns?

In my previous campaign, I had a villain group who used the Jewel Mage class. The party found some evidence of their existance, but never directly interacted with them. They chose to restart with a new party at first level. In the new incarnation of the campaign, I've eliminated wizards, and...

    Alchemy instead of magic

I'm really fond of the alchemist concept, so I'd love to see anything you come up with. I've tried some work on an Alchemist alternate core class for my campaign. However, my players haven't showed too much interest lately, so I haven't fully developed it yet. I like that your alchemist has a...

[OT, spoilers] LOTR - The Two Towers

All I can say is, Ents, Dragons and degenerate hobbits, too cool! :D Yeah, gotta show the dwarves some r-e-s-p-e-c-t! FM

DM's Request: How to run politics?

Hey, everyone, these are great ideas! Keep 'em coming! Those little details are the bits that I really have no clue about. That stuff is really helpful. Drawmac, I do indeed have Freeport: City of Adventure. I'm thinking that the rouge who stole the artifact could tie into the history of...

DM's Request: How to run politics?

Here's the situation: When I started my campaign almost two years ago, a couple of my players said that they were interested in politics. In that time, I've touched on politics just a wee bit. Now, after a brief break, I'm picking up the campaign again in January. I'd like to include some...

    Requesting anyone creative

How about Monty Python for inspiration: Any number intended to be said by the character is replaced with another (or all numbers are multipled by a certain amount) Any time a particular word is spoken within earshot, the character takes damage. A particular word causes the character to place...

    When does multiclassing become excessive?

Heh. In one game that I play, we started at third level, and have just reached 9th level. Most of the players have one or two classes. However, there is one player who has seven classes. As I recall (it's not my character) they are: Barbarian 1/ Fighter 2/ Ranger 1/ Samurai 2/Psychic Warrior...

[PR] EN World Print Magazine to be Published by Goodman Games

Hey, I just subscribed! Things I'd like to see: I'll second the vote on stuff on languages. I've done this a bit based on the past Dragon aritcles; adds some nice touches to the game. I'll mention names, too. I really have a tough time thinking up cool dragon names, as just one example...
