    Too Many Feats?

I don't think there's too many feats. For someone who's interested in searching and researching his character, it's a lot of fun to dig through a few books and finally come up with something good. For someone who isn't, the feats in just a couple of books (PHB and Complete X) gives you a nice...

Horizonwalker, heirophant, et al: being used?

Assuming the campaign I'm in now gets up to 15th level, I'm planning on going into Archmage. I had been planning on Loremaster before then, but I've since found a different prestige class that I'll be going into soon.

Clerics - What do you LIKE and DISLIKE?

I'm generally pretty happy with the Cleric as written. Do a little support, do a little combat, do a little healing at the end of it all. It's a fun enough class to play, with variation given by domains and the spells you prefer.

    The Superman Returns spoiler thread.

I thought it was the water that was allowing it to grow... so it should pretty much stop now that it's up in space, I think.

    The Superman Returns spoiler thread.

I'm not a huge superman fan, but I was pretty much held spellbound by the movie. My wife, who likes superman in the movies and TV (but not the comics), was really digging it the whole time. I'm thinking of seeing it again on IMAX later.

    Evard's Black Tentacles and DR

I wouldn't think so. I don't think the 10d6 damage is from any part of the spell so much as it's from having a lot of iron drop on you. Empower spell wouldn't make more iron in the wall, so I don't see how it would make the wall more heavy.

    Evard's Black Tentacles and DR

DR: Magic is defined as: I don't see how the description of the spell at all suggests that the tentacles would defeat the magic part of the DR, myself. The spell isn't directly hurting the lich, anyway - it's creating tentacles, which then hopefully grapple him while you come up with a better...

    Augment agmented summoning

As a wizard with Augment Summoning, this is just the sort of cool feat that I'm looking for. (For those of us without Frostburn, there's a preview with the text of the feat here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20040911a&page=2 ) Any other similar augmenting feats in the other books?

    Augment agmented summoning

There's the Thamaturgist Prestige class in the DMG: http://www.d20srd.org/srd/prestigeClasses/thaumaturgist.htm

    Evard's Black Tentacles and DR

Doesn't sound like they have any enhancement bonuses - and it's a conjuration spell. I'd say it's probably not magical, and would not get through DR. However, DR doesn't protect your target from being grappled, and you can always drop a fireball on top of him now that he's not able to dodge it.

    No they don't.

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

Yeah, it's basicly down to what conjure means in the feat description. If it means 'cast a conjuration spell', then the feat doesn't apply. If it means 'conjure a creature via spell, wand, or whatever', then the feat does apply. I think I'll probably be writing this up and sending it into the...

Little Powergaming Rules That Slip By

If you want to become a specialist wizard for the extra spells, and don't particularly care which type to become, become a Diviner. You're often taking a divining spell for each level anyway because they're useful, and if you specilize this way you are only excluded from one school of magic.

Little Powergaming Rules That Slip By

Not a bad idea if you have the Charisma for it. Depending on the Rogue build, they may not have a Charisma over 10, but they're likely to have an Int over 10 for the skill points. But if they have the CHA, that's a good idea.

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

I still find your logic unsatisfying. How does 'conjure' in "each creature you conjure" mean one thing, where 'conjure' in "Creatures you conjure usually, but not always, obey your commands." means another? Both are quotes from the rules. Admittedly, 'conjure' itself is undefined in the rules...

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

I'm not pointing to a spell description. I'm pointing to the wordage from the rules on conjuration spells. Can you show me the rules that say that 'conjure' means one thing in one place, and a different thing in another place? I'll admit I'm getting a little snarky here, but all I want is for...

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

Okay, I'll ask again. "Staves are a specific exception to the rule that allow the use of specific feats." Where is this rule written? This is all I'm asking here. Page reference? URL to the SRD? I've been looking, and haven't found it. Please show me the rule.

This Weekend at the Boxoffice: 2006.06.18

Oh, yeah, sorry. I know what the movie is about - I was just surprised that the movie didn't get more advertising and a larger push before the movie came out.

This Weekend at the Boxoffice: 2006.06.18

It's interesting that the previous week's thread had someone suggesting that Cars was going to come in third - I think this week's movies ended up being really weak. What's with 'The Lake House' anyway? I don't think I noticed any advertisements for it until about two weeks before it came out...

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

So far, the closest I've come to seeing rules on when feats apply to magic items that cast spells is: However, this only states that feats that influence the DC are restricted, not that any others are.
