    Augment Summoning, and Wands

Does this mean that If I summon a monster with a wand, it does not obey my commands?

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

Okay, so... I see that a wand's DC is based on how it was constructed - which I knew. But where does it state that wands scrolls and potions are not affected by your feats? Keep in mind - Augment summoning is not Metamagic - it's a General feat. And if my character is not the caster of a...

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

Can anyone give me a pointer to where in the RAW this principle is stated? I'd love to have a look at it. Thanks!

    Augment Summoning, and Wands

The feat Augment summoning is pretty simple. It says: It's a general feat - not metamagic like it was in 3.0. My question is simple too: Does it apply when summoning a creature with a wand of Summon Monster I? I'd certainly like it to, but I can't figure it either way for sure. The closest...

The Classic Dragon Reviews - Take 2

Is it the 'Shards of Eberron' that was the Open? I'm looking at the issues, and I'm not seeing any reference to a D&D Open

help me make a melee monster monk

Yes - Quarterstaff is a monk weapon, so you can flurry with it. However, remember that you need to enchant both ends... and that if he doesn't have the Two-weapon fighting feat, he's going to have extra negatives. (He can flurry with one end of the quarterstaff, as it is, but to two weapon...

The Classic Dragon Reviews - Take 2

Well, I haven't seen that Dungeon Issue - which one is it? I'm already reading through G1-3 - I'm willing to do a comparison.

Is mapping a lost art with adventurers?

I was running 'Expedition to the Barrier Peaks' last year, and one of the players tried to do an old-school map as we were going along. It required so much work outside of the game that half the table left the game in revolt. So, after that, we dropped it. And things were more fun. I don't...

Are there "typical" spell lists available?

That's not a bad idea. It could probably be put on the wiki, too, because it is NPC related. Come up with a few styles of wizard/whatever, and get to work on it. Of course, it's complex enough to almost need a programed interface - given a 6th level Conjurer with INT 19 and Illusion and...

Are there "typical" spell lists available?

You know, there's also the d20 NPC wiki.. http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page . I bet there's some example spellcasters here you could start with.

Are there "typical" spell lists available?

I bet the quick character generation system in the back of the PHBII has some, but that's a good idea.

What was your first gaming convention and what stood out about it?

Hmm. I think I'd have to say Origins, about 1986, I think. This would have been at the Baltimore Convention Center, and I remember having a blast. I bought what I think was 2nd edition GURPS, played a game of D&D (or something) where I got a glow in the dark d20, and played a hilarious game...

    Ranger - likes and dislikes?

One option is to tie the bonus to a successful check on Survival, or the appropriate Knowledge skill. If the check is successful, the ranger discovers something about his target which gives him a bonus of 1/5th his ranger level - or else set the reward to his degree of success? For every 5 by...

    Anyone picked up True Sorcery?

So, where on www.rpgnow.com do I buy this? I was just on their website, and I couldn't find the book at all?

Do Personal Opinions Of Authors, Etc Dissuade You From Purchases?

Kind of? There's one publisher I'm really not interested in buying from, but on the other hand, what they publish doesn't really appeal to me. So, does it not appeal to me because I've already decided not to buy, or is it separate? I can't say. Now, if Hitler came forward in time and started...

    An Epic Setting

I think it sounds really interesting and cool. I think longer than 32 pages might be called for, here, but I'd love to see what you come up with.

Keeping track of known and unknown items

That's what I did in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil - and probably will do in the future. It doesn't give away too much information, and makes it much easier than to say "That ring we found with the green thing"

PDFs - where do you buy yours?

RpgNow/Edge mostly. I get some freebees from DTRPT, but I don't think I've bought anything there yet. I've got my eye on GURPS Mysteries from the e23, but haven't bought anything there yet, other than pyramid subscriptions.

    Ranger - likes and dislikes?

Personally, I'm pretty happy with the Ranger, although I haven't felt a need to play one yet. It does sound like the animal companion is pretty weak at higher levels, which is a shame. But otherwise it seems like a nice blending of the fighter's strengths with a more skill/outdoors orientation.

Monk - what do you like and dislike?

Nicely put! In the PHBII, however, there are a feat chain that the Monk can take as bonus abilities to throw balls of ki at his opponents by 8th level.
