    Colorado Honeymoon Approaching

<pedant> Nan Desu Kan </pedant> (I'm told it's a japanese-english pun) I've been to NC a couple of times - my wife has family on the coast. I haven't been to that convention, though.

    Colorado Honeymoon Approaching

If you're near Colorado Spings, there's taking the train up Pike's Peak. I went a few years ago in July, and at the top of the mountain there was snow on the ground. (Take a jacket.) And another fun thing is to grab a map and just drive through the mountains... lots of beautiful scenery out...

Call of Cthulhu- which version should I buy?

I've used both, and in both cases have had great effect. In fact, I'm currently introducing a bunch of D&D players to Call of Cthulhu d20, and we're all having a blast - we mostly didn't even touch our dice last session, except for a few skill rolls now and again. Use what feels comfortable to...

A Whole Bunch of Zombie RPG Questions

The expansion books go for between $20 and $24, with the main book going for $30. Which, really, are some of the most reasonable prices in the industry, I think. I'm not sure why the original poster thinks they're unreasonably priced. And there's even an adventure you can buy online for five...

    Has the RPGA failed?

C'mon out to Denver for Genghis Con. We can always use more classics.

A Whole Bunch of Zombie RPG Questions

They've done martial arts zombies, wild west zombies, pulp zombies, Fantasy zombies, Zombies around the world, two books of different sample PCs, a book for players and three volumes of award-winning fiction - and your problem is that they did a wrestling book? What else were you expecting...

A Whole Bunch of Zombie RPG Questions

But it wasn't their second product. It was, like, their fifth or sixth product. I'm afraid I'm going to have to recommend All Flesh Must Be Eaten. It's that good.

    Has the RPGA failed?

As both a player in RPGA games, and a convention coordinator, I'd have to agree with you there. Here in Denver participation in the RPGA and interest in the Living Greyhawk campaign is running very hot, so we've got great stuff. Our triad is both hard working and enthusiastic, and so we've got...

    GM Tools at d20zines

Hey, I tried your link, and I get a page that says "Problem in Database Connection" - you might have your friends at d20zines work on that.

Andy Collins speaks - Upcoming Products

I'm pretty optomistic over the new books. I probably won't buy all of them - I'm trying to keep my buying down to what I will definately use - but I like the sound of the directions Wizards are going. The big spellbook will be a big help for myself as a DM - if I'm making an Enchanter NPC for...

Has the age of the big book arrived?

Hm. Where I don't mind a big GMs book for a setting - after all, I like to get as much as I can - the idea of a separate player's book is nice too. Something my players can buy into for a low price and have what they need to play. My problem with big books - well, with a lot of rpg books...

What causes boredom in a game session?

And thus, I choose 'Other'. It's a lack of choice, at root. Either I can't make choices because my character has no choice (nothing to do), or no interesting choice (who cares), or the GM's concentrating on other characters, or so forth. In one recent campaign it came down to play style - I...

Thanks - sounds interesting. Is someone doing a DoS attack on his site? I haven't been able to reach the site since Thursday.

    A rant on ASF

Ah, 15? That would be difficult. I thought of 10 because it represents the base DC for when you're wounded while casting a spell - the DC there is 10+damage taken. I agree, 15 would be too high.

    A rant on ASF

It wouldn't? Well, let's see. 1st level wizard, takes 4 ranks in Concentration, takes a 12 for Con (required for any wizard, I think), and Skill Focus: Concentration. That's a +8 to make a DC 11 - Only a 10% chance of failing to start with. If they're wearing light armor, say with a -2...
