    Lost Room

Here's another question: When we first meet the guy who's got the comb, he stops time and grabs money out of the till while time is stopped. However, when he's showing how the comb works to Joe, he demonstrates how everything else is unmoving when time is stopped. Anyone have an idea how both...

    Lost Room

My wife and I really liked this series - I hadn't expected to like it as much, but it was well written and well acted, and was pretty gripping at times. Good job, SF! But it does seem to be set up for another series - we've got the 'prophet', we've got the new occupant, we've got the question...

Moving to Denver and looking for a game

Well, Southwest will put you somewhere near the Enchanted Grounds, like I mentioned before, and now that I think about it there's also Bonnie Brae Games, which is near Broadway and Hampton, and no longer in the area called Bonnie Brae. :) I'm pretty sure Crothian is here in Denver too...

Moving to Denver and looking for a game

Denver! From the top. A) Gaming found: My current campaigns are all full, but you want to subscribe to houseofdragons @ yahoogroups.com and introduce yourself there. A lot of the local roleplayers subscribe there. B) Gaming Shops: There are a couple good ones in the city, although where you...

    OoTS #373!

Yeah, "Forcecage doesn't work that way", is pretty much what ran through my head. It's a cute escape, but a little annoying. On the other hand, "I'm sure there's some way a 10-foot pole could get me out of this," was one of my favorite lines.

    Is this fair?

This reminds me of that bit from Knights of the Dinner table where the girl (name forgotten) takes off in the middle of the session (or skips a game, I forget which) and comes back to discover that her character had stripped naked and fought and tumbled her way through many deadly situations...

    Heroes Season 1(#7)---11/06/06-'Nothing to Hide'

I liked this episode. I've never seen lost, but I'm expecting the story to take a while to get anywhere and so far I've liked it. And yes, Hiro was geeking out over using his power again, but this is the first time he's done it in an explosion - it's not often you see a tire hanging in...

Annoyed with D&D Game Day Characters

Hmm. The group I ran through had a few problems. The paladin died in the first combat (with the axe-weidling undead) because of a badly timed critical where he took about 35 points. I had one of the surviving clerics raise him at 3rd so he could keep playing, and they pressed on. They had...

[EDITION WARZ] Selling Out D&D's Soul?

I've discovered another method to die in 3rd edition! If a Shadow drains your STRENGTH down to 0, then you die and come back as another Shadow.

[EDITION WARZ] Selling Out D&D's Soul?

Well, it's a shame to see any thread close, but this one's had a good run, and it's possible we've hit all the points of discussion by now.

[EDITION WARZ] Selling Out D&D's Soul?

"Look, I'd love to make your sword for you, but I'm all outta juice. I'll get right back on your commission, but first I need to head south and take care of this band of kobold bandits that are raiding our supply caravans first. Be back in a week, unless this is the beginning of one of those...

[EDITION WARZ] Selling Out D&D's Soul?

Actually, I'm thinking that if the high-powered magic items being so powerful is a problem, then what's needed is to up the time costs for making them. Instead of 1,000 gp a day (+3 sword in 18 days, +5 sword in 50 days) you could do something like square the result - something along the lines...

    Reserve Feats are Wonderful!!

I agree with frankthedm here - the idea of spells working together in synergy is a cool one, but the added complexity seems to outweigh the benefits to the game. And it's a lot of spells to have memorized to cast on the same fellow, too.

    Heroes - 10-30-06 - Better Halves

We see them dead later on in the episode.. ikiN admits she left in the middle of the night to kill them. ikiN was laying low after the robbery - remember what DL said about not being safe after you steal that money? If the money was spent in Las Vegas it might have been traced back to Niki...

[EDITION WARZ] Selling Out D&D's Soul?

Which makes modern cars being equivalent to 2nd edition, and kit cars being equivalent to 3rd? After all, 3rd edition is so customizeable that Wizards lets other people publish supplements to it, even to the point where some crazy people are taking their Model T's and making trains out of them...
