What is the best Schtick you've ever...

I had an npc magic user (a high level contact for the players) in 2e that at every opportunity would play chess against his unseen servant. And usually lost! :p

Do not come to the game with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a 2 liter of coke and fall asleep in the middle of a combat! (His first and last game with us. He was awake one turn and we were going around the table when all of the sudden we hear load snoring coming from the lush. It was funny...

Changing the meaning of Passive Perception and Insight => Suscipion rather than Facts

I could see this also allowing characters who normally wouldn't notice with a passive check to have a chance with an active check after the really perceptive one saying "There's something odd about this statue." After all sometimes the realy perceptive ones can be so caught up in looking for...

    Do you like Mountain Dew?

Mountain Dew is my caffine of choice. Though I have been using 5 Hour Energy first thing in the morning and it really does seem to work better than Mt. Dew. Code Red is still my favorite soda though.

Fellow PC with an unfortunate name

Unless you're playing in a game with a comedy theme, I would say that this player named himself well.

Bladesinger - Weapon as Implement Confusion

I ran into the same problem. I think because Light Blade expertise says "Weapon attacks" and not "Implement attacks" it doesn't apply to your daily. I got around this with Vesitile Expertise and took Light blades and wands. There may be a better solution (in which case I would be happy to know...

    A new spin on rituals

You say that penalties last til after your next extended rest. What about conditions? That would be extremely harsh and would grind the adventuring day to a standstill if you got, say, a 1. Personally I would change it to "Save Ends" on those conditions. BTW, I like rituals too, but have...

    A new spin on rituals

Here's what we came up with once before: This is an add-on to the standard ritual casting rules. No additional feat is required. Combat Ritual Casting: You can cast rituals in combat. You may use Combat Ritual Casting two times per day at 1st level, three times at 11th, and 4 times at 21st...

    Retroclones and Older D&D Editions

Morrus When I click on the link to the OSRIC site, my antivirus software goes crazy and block the site saying "Malicious Web Site Blocked " . I'm not sure if it's just me, but I thought everyone should be aware of the possibility.

    AD&D Publication Timeline -- weird

You know the thing I remember best about Judges Guild was that incredible insane city that they came out with! (I can't remeber it's name. Someone help me out :-S ) They had encounter tables for everything! And they didn't care about what level you were. "What's that? You randomly roled a...

    Legends & Labyrinths

I have a nitpicky question. When you say it's compatible with 3rd edition, does that include 3.5? I know that's not a deal breaker, but there were some differences between 3 and 3.5. Other than that, it sounds cool! I'll have to check this out.

    Looking for...

Posting in talking the talk would probably work too. It is more dedicated to pbp. I was just thinking that I see pbp games looking for players in the gamers forum and it seems less cluttered with actual game threads and is less likely to get lost in the shuffle.

    What if bonuses never stacked?

You would definitely change the math since the game assumes that your abilities stack with your feats with your powers etc. It would also make magic item less exciting unless you found one with property. A +1 sword would be useless to your average fighter for instance. None of this is...
