It was adaptability i was going for with that bonus feat, but I don't want to raise int to 0. They might be adaptable, but they're still pretty stupid. I think I might drop it for the ability to choose any background at all from the world, along with humans. (Backgrounds give a couple skill bonuses)

Is the bonus feat that unbalancing? A MM ogre is LA +2, and my ogre gives up 4 points f natural armor, 4 points of strength and 2 points of constitution in exchange for 2 points in intelligence.

I'm designing my own race of ogres for my campaign, slightly weaker (and more PC suitable) then the MM version. Would these stats get a +0 or +1 LA(+2 form hit die, of course)? +6 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con, -2 int, -4 Cha +4 Intimidate Bonus Feat Large size 40 ft movement +1 natural Armor 2 Levels...

Hi I was looking around for some books for my campaign and saw Grim Tales. Its marketed as High Adventure, Low Magic, but from reading through reviews and posts on this forum, how is it any "grittier" then D20 modern? (which is what its based on, right?) Are there any changes to combat? Thanks...

I would say that elves have no body hair. They're to special to chafe. Our resident dwarf expert is telling me that excessive body hair on dwarven women is bad. So I guess dwarven men don;t go for hairy chested women after all...

I think thats it. There's an old dragon ( I dont even know which one) that had a big list of guns, but theres only so much guns you can have. Musket, pistol, i'm assuming they don't want cannons... Personally, I dont use them.

My 20th level wizard had a +3 flaming, holy bastard sword, and even wasted two feats on exotic weapon pro and weapon focus. He kicked ass anyway, so I never felt bad about it.

Not in the books as much as the movie. Elves ARE good in the books, but theres really only one. The others sort of hang around Rivendell. And Tolkien never really makes Legolas that much cooler then Gimli. He even kills less Orcs at Helms Deep. EDIT: SWBaxter beat me to it.

What sort of magic is it? I'm not terribly worried about non-combat spells (as planeshifting and teleporting are going to be noticably absent from any spell list). I was thinking to make mage a prestige class, limiting its caster level to 7 1/2 (in EoM terms) or maybe only 5. The other option...

I use a varient (no spells, no animal companion) ranger with a few more bonus feats and expanded combt styles.

It was just an example. I'm trying to figure out how to include damaging spells without unbalancing the game. I want to use AGoT because everything EXCEPT the magic system is what I'm looking for.
