D&D 5E (2014) Ben Riggs talks to Richard Baker. Phandelver in 2018 alone sold 300k copies.

Weirdly, I think the parallels between T1 Village of Hommlet and what happened with the final messy Temple of Elemental Evil book and how Phandelver got treated are extremely strong...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Yes, very much a "soft" system...but key to making this a Setting agnostic set of rules at heart. A character with the cultural expertise of Alethi wouldn't know how to drive a car or work a MacBook, but a Character with 21st century American cultural expertise can make the case they can apply...

Cosmere RPG Gets Physical Release Date

No problem, I am legitimately loving this system for the rules even as much as the IP, it is very nice.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

It's what the intense hardcore anti-TV show toxic fans call thenselves: I bounced off the show myself, but people are unhinged.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Looks like you already got an answer about the math, so as to the other two questions: Yes, combat and magic are both Skills now, ao characters without a combat focus at all are easily possible. "Expertise" has nothing to do with 5E Expertise, somewhat annoyingly, but is an "open class" way...

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I mean, it isn't in the Forgotten Realms books, this is a swperate more niche supplement, similar to the vampire urban fantasy supplement and gonzo time travel campaign, both niche topics. Broad details of what's in Realmspace is perfect for this exact sort of supplement.

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

Thing is, I don't think he was right about the present stste of affairs in 2024...which means his prediction is wildly off kilter.

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

I think the page count is more than enough to give a bigger depiction than spelljammer systems got in the Spelljammer set.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Not to belabor this, but it is relevant tot hw Stormlight stuff actually precisely because these books and this RPG are extremelydiverse: very few characters in the stormlight books are "white" and the main characters are darksinned and Asian coded. He has expressed concern that Hollywood would...

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

Yeah, both his premises were super wrong, so his conclusion was juat wrong squared: D&D is doing fine, and the broader RPG industry is more diverse and varied than ever.

D&D General Fall of Netheril- The Return of the Arcane Age Subsetting

Yeah, 7 Species is like 14 pages, max, and based on the description of the first two products these seem to be far more substantial. Spelljammer or Kara-Tur feel the most likely to me, IMO. Particularly thinking about the firemen, providing updated Gith (both of em), Thri-kreen, etc. Just...

D&D 5E (2024) When are we getting announcements for 2026 books?

Previous to it, at Warner Bros. before Paramount picked up the rights. It was in development for years after Hasbro cleared up the rights issues with the old rights holders. All we know about it was that it was going to be set in Waterdeep with the Yawning Portal as a major set piece, and have a...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Reeling it back on topic...Plotweaver would work better for the Wheel of Time than the old d20 Wherl of Time game did.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

That's not entirely accurate, he actively encouraged people to watch h it with an open mind. He did voice some criticisms of decisions made, but always respectful to Rafe and his own artistic vision. If he was quoted as a weapon, it wqs definitely outnof context.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

I take that as a reference to the TV show, which he did gently express some frustrations with, but in a context of respecting the showrunners and their artistic vision. He dis actively encourage people to watch the show with an open mind, and decried it being canceled juat s it was gaining...
