    [OT] NHL Playoffs continuation thread

I feel for Teflon Billy and Greyone. I can't stand that snoozy trap system - it absolutely sucks. I'd have liked to seen Vancouver and Ottawa in the Stanley Cup finals, personally. Minnesota seems like a good story, until you recognize that the only reason they are where they are is the reason...

    The worst Roleplaying game ever!!!

My vote goes to Traveller: 4th Edition (I think that's the one - black books with a red-framed cover). Not that it was truly awful, but pretty damned uninspiring. It made me feel like Traveller was just one of those things you either get or you don't. Either you played with the original...

[OT] If you though "lightning bolt!" was funny...

Kind of funny, but I agree with what was said earlier. Just a kid goofing around. I feel bad for him, actually. Lighting bolt was much funnier, IMO.

    Dungeon 99

I think there was a thread last week, but it may have sunk. I am proud to be the author of "Colossal Crypt", and was totally blown away by the illustration Jeff Carlisle did for the piece. Excellent job. It was a joy to work with the fine folks at Dungeon. Unfortunately, it appears I got...

    Pretty neat!

What is your favorite d20 adventure?

I'll cast my lot for "Hall of the Rainbow Mage" by Necromancer Games. I am in the middle of running it right now, and it's a good solid adventure. I've only had to make a few changes to it to make it fit into my campaign.

What is the most damage you've ever seen a character do in one round?

Funny, but there was a mid-high level rogue in one of my campaigns that dropped a ton of damage on a Troll. I think it was 86 points, in much the same way you mention. Spells, sneak attack damage, mods, etc. You'd think a fighter would, but maybe a fighter does damage more consistently. Rogues...

    Dungeon #99?

Thank you, Jhamin. :) I want to eventually write a full length adventure, but I thought it might be better if I tried my hand at one of the "Critical Threats" first. Not so intimidating. Turns out I was right. It was a joy to do, and Chris Thomasson was a joy to work with.

    Anthony Valterra vs. Tracy Hickman

I hope you realize that, on a certain level, that sounds kind of silly. In fact, it sort of illustrates how silly the whole concept is - a manual for imaginary sex. It's not so much that it's bad, it's just kind of unnecessary - or at least superfluous. Still, they have every right to try their...

    Dungeon #99?

Could any of you who have received the issue answer me a question. I wrote a "Critical Threat" that was supposed to appear in this issue and was wondering if it's in there. I haven't gotten my copy yet. The Critical Threat is called "Colossal Crypt", and it details a...well...Colossal Crypt. :)

    Anthony Valterra vs. Tracy Hickman

I would just like to hear the opinions of the folks here that regularly dump on Avalanche Press for their covers. How are they going to feel when they see the spritely breasts of "Moonshadow" presented "tastefully". I just hope that consistency rules the day, because the same tactic...

    Gaming music

Track down a group called "Milladora". They are a Spanish group that does Celtic music. I use one of their CD's, (yellow cover) religiously in my campaign. Great backround and mood setting music.

    [Dragon] Dragon #307

Thanks for all of the detail, Tsyr. Yeah, Stannis as a paladin is sort of...surprising. Don't get me wrong, as you may guess the guy doesn't have a bigger backer than me :) , but I would have thought "fighter", as you say, or something akin to the "Knight" class from Mongoose's class-pamphlets...

    [Dragon] Dragon #307

Man, I can't believe how little people are saying about the GRRM stuff in this issue. Is it that uninteresting? I'm starting to wonder if I should get it, now....

    [Dragon] Dragon #307

Steering this back on topic from the insidious and everpresent "Harm is broken! No it's not!" debate :) , Are there stats for me ( :) ) in issue 307?

    Toolbox

I love this book. Much, much utility - and a great friend to the harried DM. By the way, to facilitate finding things, I use a few of those "post it" flags on the tables I use most - Tavern food, pick pocket results, names, etc. I've found that this helps immensely. As Alan said, too, the index...

    IceStorm in Upstate New York

I'm in Erie, PA, right on the shores of lake erie. My power went out at 1:00 am Friday night/Saturday morning (just as our weekly session was wrapping up, in fact :) ), and didn't come back on till Saturday evening around 7:00pm. About 18 hours. Fortunately I had some firewood left, and we went...

    [April] What you're reading now

I am about 3/4 of the way through "Starship Troopers". Alot different than the movie (though I liked the movie), overall a pretty good read.
