Which D&D supplement do you most enjoy using?

You do know about the new Grimtooth book (The Wurst of Grimtooth's Traps) don't you?

What do you think of the Eberron-specific races?

Jaffa are warriors, not just incubators. I am removing the spirit possesion aspect of the Quori. The Inspired are the leaders and rulers. Empty Vessels are still a question mark for me. I did say that I was trying to adapt them. :D

What do you think of the Eberron-specific races?

I so agree with you on this. In fact, I am trying to adapt the Inspired (Go'oauld) and Kalashtar (Tok'ra) to my world using the Elan as Jaffa.

"+1 to caster level" from two different sources - Do they stack?

Actually, if you give them different types, then they definately stack. Only if they have the same type will they not stack. That said, I don't see too much trouble from letting them stack. YMMV.

    Magic of Eberron- Symbionts

I think you missed the part about 'once per round'. You can not throw two or more shards per round.

    Heroes of Horror

Well, I have to admit that I only have the first 6 or 7 3e Ravenloft books, so maybe one of the later books had the info I was looking for. I just expected more of the type of advice that was in HoH to be in the 3e Ravenloft CS. It seemed to me to be awful thin on how to run a horror campaign. YMMV.

Magic of Eberron, anyone pick it up yet?

According to the book, they are neither arcane nor divine. As long as the spell is on your spell list, you can activate it once per day. Also, no minimum ability score is required, unlike a scroll. I think it would take a pattern to combine multiple minor schema into something that can, say...

    Heroes of Horror

I have it and it is more of a combination of all kinds of horror books for D&D. Elements of BoVD, Ravenloft, CoC, and even OA are in it. I think it does more for horror in D&D than Ravenloft 3e ever did.

    Magic of Incarnum...thoughts?

No worries, I have been trying to dispel a number of misunderstandings about this book for a while now.

    Did I dream this up...?

The feat in Unearthed Arcana is Skill Knowledge (UA p.81 sidebar). It has two effects, either two skills (specific group) becomes a constant class skills or one skill (any) becomes a constant class skill. Doesn't seem to be tied to the surrounding rules.

    Magic of Incarnum...thoughts?

Just a few points. I can't wait to see these rules in use in my game. What they pick at the beginning of the day is the soulmelds they will have active and if any of them will be bound to a chakra (item slot). Yup The number of active soulmelds is Con-10 or the number listed in the...

    Negative PLane Protection

First thing, if a character protected by a protection from evil effect advances on a creature, the protection while not push them back, it fails. The protection is a defensive effect, not an offensive effect. Second, if all of the characters have this item, then any attempt to melee with the...

    Geomancer/Dragon Disciple

    1) Draconomicom / Deities and Demigods 2) IMO: Cleric 3) No. Spell Mastery does not give the wizard the ability to avoid preparing spells. It allows him to prepare some spells without a spellbook. 4) Go sorcerer. You only need 1 level. Good luck and have fun.

    Incarnum Quibbles

Mmm, let's see. Two feats and at least 6th level to get evasion that can be dispelled. Not too powerful. I would think this combo would be used to gain more powerful soulmelds. YMMV.

    Woo-hoo! Heroes of Horror preview!!

Did you notice that they fixed the Summon Undead spells?

    Infusion questions (Artificer)

Minor point, Ray of Enfeeblement does not do Strength damage, it gives the target a Strength penalty. Penalties do not stack, so you get the best penalty from multiple hits. Otherwise, well thought out post.

The Incarnum Magic System is Neat but Remarkably Derivative

The classes in Magic of Incarnum do not directly manipulate souls. They tap the energy generated by souls and use that. Please don't give people the wrong idea about this book. It should work real good for my 'India' setting. Tapping the Akashic Records to power their magic. :D

    2007 D&D Calendar Art Vote

I just had to go with the classic image. Dragon with Hoard. It just screams 'Dungeons and Dragons'.

The Incarnum Magic System is Neat but Remarkably Derivative

I have to post a correction to the above highlighted section. The Incarnum Blade prestige class has an ability called Blademeld that allows the Incarnum Blade to bind incarnum to his sword, enhancing it in a number of ways. The blade is not made of incarnum (I think your thinking of the...
