FYI, OA lists all outsiders as of the spirit subtype.

FYI, spirits in Complete Divine reference the OA book. In the OA book, outsiders are defined as spirits. Since Summon Monster x summons a celestial or fiendish animal (animal with a template that changes it's type to outsider), they are spirits that the Spirit Shaman can affect.

In my homebrew, Incarnum is the name given to magic in an isolated section of the world. Is it a different type of energy from regular magic? No, but my players may not realize that right away. Incarnum is all about enhancing yourself, not about affecting the world around you. Totally different...

From what I have seen of Prestige Races, there is really no way to compare the two. I like Magic of Incarnum, the classes seem interesting, the powers are distinctive and not overpowering. The races are a little bland fluff-wise, but that can be fixed.

A while back I found this List. Sounds like someone out there has been busy again.

Races of Eberron has a warforged feat called Unarmored Body that might solve the problems with going monk. Takes away the armor bonus and fortification and armor check penalty.

Sounds to me like one of the other players told her that you hadn't followed thruogh on your promise. Maybe even joked with her about not getting any XP. I have had similiar stuff happen before. Chalk it up to miscommunication and let it go (unless it happens again).
