Now that the DM guide is here for 5e and everyone has had an opportunity to peruse it which do you think you prefer between using the 5e default spell slots or the DM guide option of spell points and why?

Can a player Wizard use a Pseudodragon as a familiar? The Find Familiar spell only lists a VERY limited list of creatures you can use as a familiar, not including the PD. However, the description for Pseudodragons in the Monster Manual, pg 254, states that can be used as familiars. Can I do this?
