    Painting Miniatures Guide

:) I'm very lucky in that. My wife is a gamer and has "allowed" me full run of the entire basement for whatever. Half is the game room (Complete with Huge honking train-layout table left by previous owners and surround sound), half is my office & painting station. The picture attached is my...

    Some quick sketches

Indeed, it's good to see you back, Psyekl! I tried working with him to bring combine PDF format with his work to overlay grids and allow editable areas to place names and the like on rooms... but I failed. :( The format from Adobe really couldn't handle that, and what it could do with layers...

    Painting Miniatures Guide

Ditto on the sentiments that this is awesome and should be pinned. :) I've been doing a lot of research, trying to improve my miniature painting station and how I go about the hobby... two of the best improvements I've found/come up with are helping to light the miniature better when...

MS ActiveSync 4.2/Windows Mobile 5.0: Problem Syncing Outlook Contacts

Cool, good to hear you got it working. I love having my contacts on my phone through windows for mobiles. I actually have a domain network with exchange server that I sync with - I'd probably be very lost without that information!

    XP Home -> All Programs

I've only seen that setting IIRC in the Office Suite. You can set it easily while in any of the programs in the suite by going to Tools->Customize->Options (Tab) and un-check "Always show full menus". Ironically, I hate that "personalized menu" feature and always set it to show full menus. :)...

    Magic Item Compendium

As a DM, I don't really use anything aside from the Core Rulebooks. As a player, more than one game I'm in tend to open up the available options. Everything is under DM approval, but if I don't even know about it then I can't very well get approval. :) Since I do not really purchase any of the...

Looking for a simpler PC Gen...

I was not trying to insinuate what the program was trying to accomplish is trivial or the work you are doing to harness the system was easy. Regardless, the bottom line is that if you want to have a successful product there are certain markers/goals you have to meet/accomplish/overcome. Those...

Looking for a simpler PC Gen...

My apologies, that was not clear... I meant if that format in Windows was presented as a standard. My mistake. :/ That's because to be interested in doing GUI work, you have to be an ar-teest; hence the Graphic end of that. :) We all know them artists be flaky! ;)

looking for a space combat sim game

Freespace 2 was/is so good that you should pick it up regardless. If you haven't played it, and you like that genre, you're missing out on one of the gems. Sure, it's not as pretty as it could be if it were made today, but it's got a lot more going for it anyway. Problem being that it's hard to...

Where to get a CHEAP computer

I'll ditto Tiger Direct. I've ordered from them for the past 5+ years for everything from multiple network machines to every component type and desk toys. :) They generally take care of you, have decent CS and you get your stuff quick. I don't worry when I order from them, for what it's worth.

Looking for a simpler PC Gen...

If it were marketed and presented as a "set-up", then your logic would stand. As it is, every new version of windows since 3.1 has introduced wizards made to automate just about every single thing any end user would ever want to do with a PC. Millions of people drive cars every day and don't...

Looking for a simpler PC Gen...

Indeed. I am in the technical field and have done QC work for UI programmers. What you speak is gospel for the most part, but many are not bothered to strike that balance; typically for personal and selfish reasons, but I digress. I would maintain that the more technically minded *would* be...

Looking for a simpler PC Gen...

I like the concept of PCGen. I like that it is free and I have paid money for it/sourcebooks/developmentfunds/monkeycookies/whatevertheyusethemoneyfor with the hopes that it would help bandwidth costs and generally contribute to a better product. However, I have to allocate over 512MB to the...

    [Jan] What are you playing?

For myself: Final Fantasy XII With the Wife: Guitar Hero 2 X-Men Legends 2 Gladius Kingdom Hearts 2 Soul Caliber 3 WoW My wife likes games. :) I have a ton of others that I would like to get to, but these are the only ones that are likely to see play this month. That's on top of full time jobs...

Photoshop - easy way to get a map grid?

For a bit of thread necromancy, what version of photoshop are you using? For Photoshop CS, which I have here at work, you can easily make a grid on anything by combining the line tool (set to whatever thickness of line you want, of course), enabling and setting the grid option and having the...

    First time buying cell phone...

I also concur with the Nokia line. They are one of the few available in America that did not slaughter their phone designs for the American cell companies. SE is a lot better now that the original Ericsson models are gone (Sony purchased the company a few years back, and finished out the last...
