Mali isn’t North African, but cool to see Sudan (even though many debate its classification as North African) and Egypt represented with some monsters. 🙂 Thanks for pointing me towards the Mediterranean book, I’ll have to check that out along with this book.

I'm way late to this thread, but I've just never had any issues crop up with alignment. Sure, when I first started playing back at the very end of 2E (D&D Adventure Game boxed set) we would adhere pretty strictly to alignments, but as I grew up I realized people are more complex than that just...

Flattening an image, I can see that with just a normal program of some sort. I can't wrap my head around how a program would be able to do 2D to 3D without AI or a relatively healthy amount of definitions inputted by the user.

Agreed. It just hasn't been worth the trade off, though Dungeon Alchemist is really impressive. Another thing that 3D VTTs have to fight against is that not everyone has a computer that can even run them, even as just a player.

Certainly could have been part of the genesis for Sigil. I think a lot of people like the idea of a 3D VTT, but in practice I've found that they don't add much to the overall experience when taking into account all the background work you have to do for each session.

Thanks! I really appreciate the response, Retreater. I may end up picking it up anyway as, like Voadam, I think that fantasy Africa sounds more interesting to me then fantasy Asia.

Does that book have any areas inspired by North Africa? My wife is Moroccan and I've noticed a lot of fantasy books inspired by Africa really just mean "inspired by sub-Saharan Africa" and sees North Africa ignored or lumped in with fantasy western asia.

This all makes sense to me. I would love to see a broader level of synergy across the brand, but not at the expense of any one part of it and definitely not at the expense of the tabletop game itself. Pokemon is a good example of a franchise that often self-sabotages it's video game...

I would have totally watched a Daggerheart campaign 4, but I'm totally fine with them using D&D and a West Marches campaign sounds awesome! All that being said, I think it will be perceived as a lack of confidence in Daggerheart by the DH fans, and I think it will hurt the game in the long run.

+1 for Ghostwalk. I still think about that book all these years later. Just a fun book all around!

Fair enough. I just don't think $50 is quite in the impulse buy category, especially as peoples' purchasing power has been eroding. The set itself looks awesome, I'm not disputing that, the content looks exactly as you say. I'm just unsure as to whether the price point will turn people away...

While I completely understand the external reasons why the price may be so high, I can't see $50 being in the range of a "Well, let's go ahead and try it," purchase for many people. I'm sure the contents are worth it, but that's to us, the hardcore TTRPG fans.

This is not a great time to be laid off. I hope that everyone who has been laid off lands on their feet relatively quickly.

I don't think anyone is saying that Darrington Press is going to completely abandon 5E, but they would be remiss to not focus on Daggerheart, say 75% DH and 25% 5E.
