    Falling speed

I hope this doesn't sound silly. In game terms, is basic falling speed covered anywhere? I know feather fall slows you to the safe speed of 60 feet per round, but I have not been able to locate base falling speed.

Eberron - player introduction [solved & closed]

The Eberron novel City of Towers contains an excellent 20 page introduction to the world of Eberron that I've used to get several players familiar with the workings of my campaign.

How can an apostle of peace becomes a god

Living for peace, influencing others to its ways, ect. as people have already suggested. If it were my campaign, they'd probably have to die a martyr as well, to add the appropriate dramatic twist. "Strike me down..." and all that.

    [Eberron] Faking Dragonmarks

That sounds cool. On the Wizards boards, I had asked Keith if there was anything else the creation forges might have been used for, to cause them to be banned by the Treaty of Thonehold (eg. Maybe make it easy and inexpensive to create eternal wands), but he was pretty clear that it was a...

    [Eberron] Faking Dragonmarks

I don't think I'd personally allow standard feats to bypass any restrictions, or even a UMD check (since that would be too close to emulating a feat directly). However, I like the idea that Cannith may have built in the Dragonmark restriction. Since Cannith posesses the design, anyone trying...

    [Eberron] Faking Dragonmarks

I believe it has been suggested before that the designs for a creation forge, or something related to them, may have originally come from Xen'drik. Their primary purpose was to create the warforged, and the warforged-compatible components on Xen'drik suggest some connection with the giant...

    Galactica=YAY!

Honestly, with a 20 episode season, I find myself preferring two 3 month breaks in a year to one of 6 months or more. Perhaps it is the agony of waiting for the new Doctor Who season that puts this in the front of my mind. At least we get the Christmas invasion shortly.

    Smallville: "Splinter"

I believe in the series, it has been established that Metropolis is in Kansas. I assume this was done for storytelling convenience.

    Waterdeep Woes

I would think there would be some provision in Waterdeep for legitimate uses of such tools. The place is sitting right over Undermountain, with the place constantly a place for adventurers to make a name for themselves. If they have a reason to suspect you of a specific crime, then those could...

Magic of Eberron - any good?

I enjoyed the fluff in Magic of Eberron as much or more than the crunch. There are a fe inconsistencies. For instance, I believe Keith Baker's information on Aeren makes more sense given the history from the campaign setting, but for the most part, it is a really great book. As an example...

Do the PCs follow the same rules as everyone else?

PCs get some special treatment for being protagonists, for the most part. I believe they should be a cut above the general population. This can be represented by max hit points on the first die, access to PC classes, action points, ect. For the most part, I also believe the experience table...

WoT Book 11: Knife of Dreams

With two books left, counting this one, Perrin could be there as well. Iron...blacksmith...makes sense?

WoT Book 11: Knife of Dreams

I would have to agree. I re-read the series thus far back to back earlier this year, and actually found the later books being more enjoyable than I remembered.

    Battlestar Galactica commentary on Farscape

I think I originally caught a few episodes mid first season of Farscape when it was airing late night/early morning on YTV (in Canada), and then again starting around third season when they were showing it here on weekends on Space. It struck me as a high quality show, but I had a fair bit of...

    BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: Season 2A Part 10; NSCR/9.23.2005. Mid-Season Ending

I haven't seen the thread yet, and this may be a bit off topic. A friend was asking why an Admiral, a flag officer would be in charge of a Battlestar. Is it possible this is normal? I'm no expert on military ranks, but it seems like they use army ranking up to the point of Colonel, then go on...

Thanks very much for the replies. Looks like this isn't likely to cause imbalance.

    Turning feat thoughts

Hi there I've got a fairly new player joining my 5th level campaign and wants to be heading towards the Hunter of the Dead prestige class. Currently they want to start out as a cleric/favored soul for backround reasons and access to a fair bit of low level divine magic. None of the other...

    Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 Part 8; NSCR/9.9.2005

I haven't seen the episode yet, but I recall the old Battlestar opening music is used in the flyby during Galactica's decomissioning ceremony in the mini-series. I assumed it was the Colonial national anthem or somethng like that.

a belated Angel thread : Conner, wtf?

I actually thought that would be amusing back when people were discussing spinning off Dawn as the Slayer. The wierdness of dating your dad's ex-girlfriend's sister/sister's ex-boyfriend's son would be amusing. I think around the same time, since they were commenting on Conner's odd range of...

    Battlestar Galactica:Season 2; Part 5 NSCR/8.12.05

I would be inclined to agree that there was an atmosphere in the Basestar. They were able to speak, ect. It would have been strange that she was missing her helmet anyway, as there is no reason she would have needed to take it off to remove the3 nuclear device. Has it not been suggested that...
