When modern ethics collide with medieval ethics

I agree with both posters. My only point is that there is room for this. Some will depend on how the party functions within the setting. Often the party is just on the edge of society's structure, anyway...slipping in and out, so if a dufus dissenter has a place, it might be as a PC. Now, if...

When modern ethics collide with medieval ethics

My only real point of disagreement, Janx, is that I do believe that there have always been folk whose morality mirrors that of the general public today. It's how society moved to this morality...few people felt that way, eventually more felt that way... There have also always been folk who...

Savage Worlds - do you tweak how skills work?

I think, because of the way Savage Worlds handles it, any solution that accomplishes what P-Kitty wants is going to be a straight power-up. EDIT: Now I can't get this out of my mind. I'm either going to have to house-rule it or I might find myself leaning toward another system...eep! Thanks...

Savage Worlds - do you tweak how skills work?

I actually haven't thought much about this, but I do see what you're saying. The only benefit that Savage Worlds offers is a cheaper cost until your Skill die equals the linked Attribute die. Not sure about a good solution, without reworking the trait system, though. Hmmm... One possibility...

When modern ethics collide with medieval ethics

On one hand, I have no problem with this, as even in our own world people had "modern" morals and ethics throughout history (nobody threw the "modern morales and ethics" switch). On the other hand, any time you have party members at odds, you have to be careful not to let it ruin other players'...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

Thanks. I'm just trying to keep it visible and in motion.

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

So, we're 3.5 weeks out, now, and will probably want to start sign-ups in a week or so. Do we have everyone "blurbed"? Here is what I see: Piratecate - TBD (Night's Black Agents OR Ashen Stars) John Crichton - "Cowboys and Globetrotters Part II" working title (HEX) WalkingCorpse - New...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

Silvermoon had to drop out. At this point, if my numbers are correct, I count eight GMs, including you. I also think we wanted to nail down the games around this weekend. Maybe you should remain amiable to GMing. Me, Piratecate, John Crichton, WalkingCorpse, Umbran, Zephrin the Lost...

Boston Game Day: March 10, 2012: GMs and games needed!

I'm GMing and blurbed. :) I'd like a shot at JC's sequel adventure, so would appreciate being scheduled opposite him.

On The Rocks - Hard Liquor Welcome aboard the Hard Liquor. You have the honor of joining this riverboat on her maiden voyage from St. Louis to New Orleans. Why are you here? Well, you might be the captain or crew and find that it is your duty. Perhaps you are here for the $100,000 poker...

Abney Park's RPG: Anyone else excited?

As both a steampunk fan and an Abney Park fan, I am interested in seeing this. Sadly, I know very little at this point.

I had an amazingly fun time. Thank you, everyone, for a great gameday. Thank you, Piratecat, for being a wonderful host, as usual. Also, thanks to Rodrigo for running a day after game of Leverage. It was great to see folk who I don't get to see nearly often enough.

I know. I was going to shoot for a "call me Master" joke, but the timing was way off, and it didn't sound as funny this morning.

In typical fickle-fashion, I am changing my mind on what I'm running. I'll cross-post from CM... Okay, I was just struck by a bolt of stupid inspiration and I'm running with it. So, I'm changing the game that I'm running. This will be a M&M 3e game. Here is the mini-blurb: WINNING! The...

Would you prefer it if your partner said you were a great GM, or great in bed?

One could possibly think that, but not me.
