Mission Impossible: 4 - Ghost Protocol. Anyone seen it?

I just got back from seeing it at the IMAX. I really liked it. As a popcorn movie, I give it 9/10. There are some stunning visuals, death-defying acts, and you get a chance to see Ethan Hunt get really bashed up. It's the first time I recall him really injured in one of the MI films...

Mission Impossible: 4 - Ghost Protocol. Anyone seen it?

I opted to not go see it yesterday, but instead go today to the IMAX and see it there. You guys talked me into it. :)

    Ptolus Re-Issued Hardcover?

How is the binding going to stand up on a Lulu book of this size? I have only seen the softcover/glue bindings on books from there, so I don;t know if they have a hardcover option or not. The binding on my Ptolus is rock solid (with ribbon bookmark!) Hardcover textbook or better quality. You...

    Dear Mike & Monte

I agree that there are those that don't like the healing surge mechanic. It pops them out of the immersion. I can see that. And using them during short rests to heal to full was something that people strongly disliked. But 10-tapping the party with a waistband full of CLW wands did the same...

    Ptolus Re-Issued Hardcover?

It will probably cost you at least $200. Make sure the seller has all the extra stuff that came with the original. There were 5 Ptolus player guides, a CD with a ton of handouts and stuff, as well as Night of Dissolution, a module set in the milieu, as well as PDFs of everything. There might...

    Dear Mike & Monte

I agree, but that is NOT the image I remember. This was the first D&D book I ever got, back in 1978. EDIT: Ok, Oldtimer, maybe it was 1979. It was over 30 years ago, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. All I know for sure is that I was in 7th grade.

    Dear Mike & Monte

It's almost as if the PR team needs to release an upcoming supplement short list to let people know from the beginning things like: "Before you all start to become concerned, Gnomes and Half-Orcs are planned for Supplement-A in March, Frost Giants will come in Monster-Book-2 in April. But...

    Dear Mike & Monte

I agree with these things, especially #4. I am a very busy person - job, family, etc.. - and I DM 90% of the time. In 3e I used DM Genie all the time, and in 4e I use Adventure Tools and a couple of 3rd party tools to help with creating encounters and running the game at the table. Don't be...

    Dear Mike & Monte

This may have been mentioned already (didn't read the full thread yet), but making the core game too simple will undoubtedly tick off a lot of people because their favorite class, race, monster(s), magic item(s), etc.. isn't included. There's only so much that can be launched in a simplified...

Mission Impossible: 4 - Ghost Protocol. Anyone seen it?

I am planning on hitting the matinee tomorrow to go see Mission Impossible:4. It's getting awesome reviews, and though I know there are those that won't see anything with Tom Cruise due to his personal beliefs, I've never had a problem separating his personal life with his skill in his craft...

    Ptolus Re-Issued Hardcover?

Yeah.... There's really nothing quite like the original Ptolus hardcover. It's one of the most beautiful and functional RPG books I've ever seen.

    The availability of magic items

I've been doing this since the beginning of 3e with magic items, since I've never really liked the "Ye Olde Magik Shoppe" paradigm. What I do to make the change more RPish is when the above example character is 12th level, some event in the game will trigger the change. I.E. the killing blow...

Grimm or Once Upon a Time

I've seen Once Upon a Time, and Grimm is in my Hulu queue for viewing, but I have to say that I really like OUaT. Someone before asked about Maine... I wonder if Stephen King or Castle Rock has a financial stake in this. He is an avid fan of old school mysteries and betrayals, which the fairy...

    Once Upon A Time

Starting to watch episode 3... on Hulu+ with HD.

    Once Upon A Time

I can't give XP... (must spread it around.) I am 2 episodes in and really liking it. Oddly, I am watching in via Hulu+ and in a brand spanking new LG 3D LED/LCD (55"). I've never seen a crisper image. But the big thing is, it looks, even in 2d, that it might have been filmed with some...

WoTC - D&D Virtual Table in Open Beta!

Importing maps is a biggie for me. I use a lot of maps I create in photoshop or from the web. Also, with a prepublished adventure, I like to resize the maps or use the hi-res versions like I can do in MapTools.

WoTC - D&D Virtual Table in Open Beta!

I still haven't had a chance to poke around in it yet, but I imagine I will over the weekend.

WoTC - D&D Virtual Table in Open Beta!

I received a Wizards Broadcast yesterday with this information in it: I can't wait to check it out! Have any of you used it yet and how well is it working?
