the tablet war is heating up

Well, you're making as much of an assumption as you claim RdM is making. Apple would be thrilled with the TV and print marketing that comes with having a major airline tout your technology. Do you think Apple wants Samsung to pick up contracts like this? The second or third largest carrier in...

GAME OF THRONES #9:-Baelor ACT 9 Chapter 1-2011

It's possible that because Season 2 will have some epic battles, and it was green-lit back after episode 1, they moved some budget money from this season to next to pay for some of the CGI necessary. Next season could get expensive if they try to get it all in. I thought what they did with...

How do you show "three" with your fingers?

For some reason, I was thinking the backwards peace sign. :D That one is offensive in England. But the OK sign, knuckles out, if sideways means you are a Blood killer (the gang, the Bloods), a gang sign of the Crips. In modern inner-cities, though, it has become to mean "F-U, I'll kill your...

How do you show "three" with your fingers?

Isn't that the insulting way? Or were you being sarcastic. :)

And since I am an Amazon Prime customer, I got 20GB for free. As well as a TON of TV shows and movies.

It's certainly a neat start. I am interested in seeing the final image too!

How do you show "three" with your fingers?

I used to do Index middle ring, then I started dating a deaf gal and switched to thumb, index, middle. I never switched back because it is a much more natural gesture. Especially if you've ever broken a finger/thumb or you have arthritis.

GAME OF THRONES #8:-The Pointy End ACT 8 Chapter 1-2011

If you haven't read the books, BEWARE spoiler tags. Sometimes they refer to things that happened in past episodes and how they affect future things, sometimes they spoil KEY future events. Read at your own risk! :D

D&D 4E Is it me or are 4E modules just not...exciting?

Thus sums up my experience with recent conversions of a 3.x/Pathfinder sandbox mini-campaign. In my experience, the the narrow tolerance for off-level encounters is based upon a fallacious paradigm perpetrated from the beginning. I am not saying AbdulAlhazred's statement is fallacious, I am...

GAME OF THRONES #7:-You Win or You Die ACT 7 Chapter 1-2011

Wait a sec... I am sure I read in many places that Rome was planned as a two season arc. The creators and writers had it all sketched out and tied up when it was pitched. [I need to go looking for some quotes somewhere...] This is a nice point. Actors can cost a lot when they get some power...

the tablet war is heating up

I don't know either, but I can say that I find it far more responsive than Vista or even XP was, and it seems like the OS has less clutter. Though, I admit it may only seem that way. Vista was a bad experiment. Win7 is what the next evolutionary step from XP should have been. It...

the tablet war is heating up

So true. It seems that while some MS/Windows users can constructively criticize their favored OS or platform, there appears to be a significantly lower percentage of OS X/iOS/Apple users that do the same. PC/Windows = boring productive work stuff Mac/Apple = too cool for words Yet, I run...

GAME OF THRONES #7:-You Win or You Die ACT 7 Chapter 1-2011

Isn't that the last episode of the season? I know they green-lighted the second season like right after the first episode, but does anyone know how well the series has been received and whether we'll see a 3rd or 4th season?

the tablet war is heating up

I think that's what RdM's point was (or am I wrong?) They'll be able to scale the OS down in the "tablet version" so that it can do what typical users need, but be powerful enough so that a power-user can still use it for what they need. A network admin may want so additional tools that...

D&D 4E Is it me or are 4E modules just not...exciting?

This is the attitude I am taking with Slumbering Tsar. Since it is a sandbox, many of the possible encounters aren't level appropriate. I had to repeat this to my players over and over, though, as 2 yrs of 4e (and most 3.x prepublished adventures) had conditioned the players that most...

D&D 4E Is it me or are 4E modules just not...exciting?

I'm actually converting the Pathfinder mini-campaign by the ol' Necromancer guys called Slumbering Tsar. Very sandboxy, very flavorful. I am finding the conversion easy, though we are only 2 sessions of playing in and I've only done 4 sessions or so of converting. Converting a sandbox can be...

Which horror/supernatural creature is more dangerous and/or scariest?

I would have say... my great-grandfather's animated underwear, boots and belt. The stuff of nightmares. EDIT: Note, the belt is more like a whip than something holding up the underwear.
