Deep gnomes have always been in the position of being one of the few non-evil Underdark subraces. Pre-3rd edition, they have usually been of neutral alignment, now they are of good alignment. That shouldn't stop you from making them evil in your campaign though. In the ignorant minds of many...

Yeah, Lockwood is the god of dragon art (at least to me)... At least most of the other art is still good to great. And there don't seem to ne such abominable art as the MM2 gem dragons or many of the Dragonlance dragons. :)

From the SRD: Out of the MM, Spellcraft is a class skill only for blue dragons, amazingly.

Too bad... :( Then again, it is a Player's Guide, and monsters only have a limited reason to be part of such a book. Still sad, though. :(

It't not as regular as the "WotC is going bankrupt/will sell DnD/destroy everything DnD is about/etc..." or "Armageddon is coming (for the 2003rd time)" things, but it is fairly regular. ;)

But, at least in my opinion, the problem isn't that they look different from Lockwood's dragons. It is that they look ugly. They have none of the majesty (sp?), grandeur, danger a dragon should have. The black dragon is a good example of what I would want. The brass dragon on the other hand...
